We know it is not easy to happen, but it is something possible, especially because of the potential of bitcoin and the benefits it can bring to people, changing the way the money is transferred through the world.

About the next century.  We cannot predict that because it always depend on us, the users, the supporters of bitcoin.  We know that it is almost acceptable in other country and it is legal.  Also, there were many people everyday that get to know bitcoins so if it continues, then stores and other big companies will see how bitcoins can be a good way for their transactions.

I think bitcoin will never be international currency because its already international currency online.. and world wide.
because i think every each country know about bitcoin..

Exactly, bitcoin is already international currency in all over the world. If some people say that when bitcoin become international currency? I think they want to ask when bitcoin become popular in all over the world like USD. So my answer is same it is time taking work, within 5 years or may be more years we need it when bitcoin would be used in open market and other ways easily in all over the world.

of course you are both right when you say that we can pay with bitcoin every where and everybody. but to do this we need a couple of things first. a device with internet powered by electricity. also you need someone who will accept bitcoin. unless people use it widely it is just a nice gimmick.

Bitcoin is already international currency without any doubt about it. The only thing which is not showing this reality is lack of adoption and not going main stream fully. It has become strong competitors to online payment processors and is advancing in other fields as well. All these effects will be seen in next few years and I am sure of this thing.

I definitely agree with you. Bitcoin is already used all over the world and I doubt any country would declare Bitcoin as their official currency.
although bitcoin in use by many people in different countries around the world. but users are still very few in each country. perhaps only a few people. is it can be called as an international currency? I think there are specific criteria for the number of users?

My take is that it will never happen within this decade or even our generation. In order for a fiat currency to be known as the world's currency, it takes a lot of time and hard work. To add on, Bitcoin is a new form of currency, it is digital unlike the traditional fiat. Unless the world suddenly realize the power of technology, there is no way that Bitcoin will make itself the world's currency in our generation.

So sad! This profile does not appear as the #1 result (on anonymous) Google searches anymore.

Perhaps btc can be already considered  as an international cryptocurrency. Anyone  can use it over the world, and there's  already a lot of people using  it daily. The problem is that  the number is not that  high compared to  the use of fiat money. It is required that more phisical  shops start accepting it, so the  currency can attract more customers..

BTC's an international currency now! International people use it, but it could be used much more if it was easier, much easier for travelers to exchange BTC with the local fiat currency.
No doubt BTC is now growing internationally ,the only thing is that we people having responsibility to explore the image, worth, future ,belief, technology ,profitability about BTC among whole world ,finally we grow rich.

And in fact, the bitcoin system is so far from can apply in real life, and we don't need for talking about the bitcoin and fiat currency caused they're already having a different purpose. and in fact, the value of bitcoin is related to the fiat currency.

As people are awarding of bitcoin & its potential. When we can see bitcoin as international currency? Huh

I have seen this thread a couple of times now and I just cannot ignore the fact of how clueless some people might be about Bitcoin. The fact that you are asking when Bitcoin will become an international currency is wrong. It is already international and borderless the minute it was born. Even if most governments refuse to acknowledge it and the fact that the regulators have no solid idea how to control it means that it is not meant to be just another ordinary "currency" to be used by the mainstream. It will take a special group of people to have interest to understand it and really know it. The initial interest will be for profit but you know when the bug has bitten you because you are now trying to read and understand satoshi's white paper.

To understand Bitcoin and appreciate it, is also to deeply understand what money is

It's near to impossible because no country will accept bitcoin as international currency because each country have their own currency and they will definitely want to make their own currency as international currency. And bitcoin is not that legal that all country will accept the coin as international currency.

Well dollars its recognized as international currencie, bitcoin is present at almost all countries if not all, the thing is the countries should recognize it as investment like gold and silver markets, soo as a stok and not a currencie.

Maybe we will see this soon, cause i heard somewhere that Japan want to accept bitcoins as legal currency, but anyway nowdays it's still banned somewhere Grin
Not sure if it's banned there, but with respect to becoming an international currency, we are certainly on the way for that to happen, but I believe that we have almost a decade to go before the btc becomes a form of payment used by almost everyone, across the globe.
