I've been reading this thread since page 300 or something like that and finally couldn't resist registering and posting this because it made me laugh so hard! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XD5rQcOaV84 watch this video at 1:20. This guy says Iconomi 'coin' is an easy way to buy sell and trade ethereum. It has helped people get in and out of ethereum economy. HAHA What the..... I find it so funny that even people who research crypto and post videos everyday have no idea what ICN is... No, he's actually right. I had a similar experience with couple of people to whom I recommended ICONOMI, they were confused by ICONOMI.net website and said that ICONOMI looked like "just another Ethereum exchange" & thus wasn't worth investing into... These guys are actually somewhat familiar with Bitcoin but not very crypto-savvy to dig and find this BCT forum thread. Just put yourself in their shoes and look at this homepage... not a single mention of "Fund Management Platform", "Index funds", etc...  |

I see ChronoBank is the next ICONOMI Hardly. Its a good project but its potential growth is smaller. First, adoption of crypto world in many countries is quite slow (from people point of view and also from government). Secondly, their idea can be much easier copied (it is not so revolutionary as Iconomi). And thirldy, Iconomi team made before Cashilla which is kind a complementary with Iconomi. Chronobank did not do anything similar in the past |

They don't care about bringing new investors to ICN. They don't care about providing legal assistance to other exchanges to list ICN, despite their promise of "Several Major Exchanges" They don't care about naming their new Legal team, if they actually have one. Only a Class Action Lawsuit will get these guys to deliver on their promises. |

However your arguments could be applied just the same to Iconomi. They seem to have plenty of connections and experience with real companies and employees, they are not coming from nothing. If they manage to cut expenses compared to other options as they said, their business will flourish. I think this is similar to Lykke (that's much more focused on banking, money transfer, etc but I believe they still aim for services exchanges). I think what distinguishes ChronoBank from other cryptoprojects is that LH tokens will actually have parity with current real world currencies. Let's face it, ETH, BTC, XMR are hardly spent or used daily because people hoard them. Volatility is the final nail on the coffin and the reason you can't really build a real world/daily business strictly based on cryptocurrencies other than a exchange or a betting site  The time tokens on the other hand are basically company shares which will receive dividends if the company grows (just like ICN). |

Newb question about Kraken... specifically related to leverage.
I have lvl 3 verification on Kraken, so I can use leverage, but ICN isn't one of the currencies with which you can use leverage.
What I'm curious about is:
Can I sell liquidate my ICN for ETH, use that ETH to buy BTC with heavy leverage, then use those levered BTC to buy ICN? Or is BTC bought on margin not available to trade other pairs? If that's not possible, could I do the same thing, but with USD in place of ETH? (I'd rather avoid trading into fiat, as that has tax implications, but if that's what it takes, that's what it takes).

You never get the coins in you account you just open a position. If you have a loss and no BTC in you account your ICN will be sold at market to cover for the loss. |
