Due to a mass of trolling, only established posters are able to post in non-newbie sections. You are considered "established" if you have spent 4 hours online and have made 5 posts (new topics or replies). If you have really good posts, you can post a request for preemptive whitelisting in the appropriate topic. Also: - Newbies cannot upload their own avatars. - You must have made one post in order to send PMs. - You need 10 posts to put a link in your signature. Note that it may take up to 10 minutes for your PM or posting permissions to be granted. (The system automatically checks every 10 minutes and promotes people as appropriate.) I understand the rules, but It can hurt the auctions as well. I would like to get in on the asciminer auction.

I suppose this is better than nothing. But it might be more appropriate to submit 5 proof-of-works?

Yes, those restrictions are quite annoying, but if it helps...

Hi All,
Posting here to get rid of newbie restrictions. Its not great that other sections are locked for newbies. Such a waste of time for me as I have no interest in newbie form.

Right, but we can add to the conversation amongst us newbs pretty easily. Providing vast and deep intellectual insight.
That's the spirit, ever onwards K.

The point of newbie restriction is to prevent troll accounts and spammers from flooding the forums with junk content.
