IMHO the 700k is blocked as the 128k plus-some are the part that won't be touched. you will not lose all the 700k, "only" couple of percent.
stop cryin, that's just TAX EVASION catching up to you. What makes you think that this person will only lose a couple of percent of the 700k? It seems like they have lost all that money so far. And Tax Evasion, which I don't think this is shouldn't be wrong. If you can go somewhere else and get cheaper taxes then why shouldn't you be allowed to do this? You are indeed allowed to move to pay less taxes (tax evasion is staying but moving your money illegally), unless a US citizen that is. You're also allowed to take the risk of putting your money in dubious banks giving unsustainable returns, and laundering dirty Russian money billions at a time. Then you're allowed to be upset when it backfires.

This is not just free market, this is anarchy. It's a different beast.
So, what are the differences? Are you serious? Anarchy = no rules about anything, you do anything, random warriors of the night assaulting random people. Free market = only a few economic rules, mostly just preventing fraud and colletting some taxes, the state still exists and acts on other things such as welfare, education, social disorder, etc.

Do US expats who live and work in another country have to pay double taxes? Once to the IRS and once to the tax agency of the country they reside in?

You have to file a return, there are treaties which might reduce taxes (e.g. under FEIE). You may be able to get a credit or deduction for foreign taxes paid - varies by country and treaties with the US. Then there are FBAR reports for foreign bank accounts. Big government at work.

In anarchy warlords soon learn that it's more profitable to rule by consensus instead than by force. It's just a problem of scale: in mass societies scams and abuses can grow up to unimaginable heights before collapsing on themselves. And that's why "they" are for NWO. The larger the base, the higher the apex.

This is all very sad, but does anyone else see the irony of "libertarians" accusing the EU of theft because its bailout of the banks that lost the money they voluntarily lent to them is too small?
the pro-libertarians would not had trusted too much banks and staid in PM, and the late-to-the-party libertarians could be happy enough suing the shit out of the bankrupt banksters if they were allowed to. Instead almost everyone is milked dry with taxpayer-funded banks bailout (which is is not a bug, is a feature).

Bank account is not a "capitalism totem" or "free market totem", bank account is a CREDIT from CUSTOMER to the BANK. You should know this if you put money inside. If bank crash, fractional reserve banking, money disappears.
Taxpayers SHOULD NOT repair bad banks.

You can (usually) pick your bank, but in many circustances – such as the company of this thread – you cannot chose to "just do it yourself", you have to trust a bank. So "voluntarily" is definitely not the appropriate term.

I feel for the OP! Has anyone noticed how governments and banks rob people lately, and there is no one to punish them for being the thieves they are. I guess it all comes down to the point of view. Or we can call it "legal thieving"...

I agree. However: people are being purposefully mislead into believing that the bank would "safekeep" and "work with" your money. Further people are falsely lead to be believe their deposits were somehow insured. I call misleading people like that FRAUD.

So, what are the differences?
Are you serious? Yes, I am. Anarchy = no rules about anything, you do anything, random warriors of the night assaulting random people.
As I suspected, you have no clue what you are talking about: which definition are you using, defined by who? This is the definition that the general media and public education gives you since you are a child, so that you can freely associate anarchy with chaos, killing, fraud and whatever. The modern definition of anarchy upon the vast majority of "modern" (i.e.: of the last decades) anarchist agree upon is the one defined by Murray Rothbard in his writings, generally regarded as "anarco capitalism". Of course anarchy has nothing to do with what you state, anarchy does not means absence of rules, but absence of a central power that can enforce arbitrary rules to the society. A part for a very small minority of anarchist (the ones defined something like "anarco comunist"), anarchist respect private property, and as such the integrity of a person (his body). Actually you can derive a whole set of sound rules from this only principle (contrary to the democracy). A difference with the usual system (the one we live in), that's not difficult to accept because it's quite natural, so you just need force to defend yourself from aggressions, and not for enforce the rules, as in our society. Free market = only a few economic rules, mostly just preventing fraud and colletting some taxes, the state still exists and acts on other things such as welfare, education, social disorder, etc.
If there is a super entity (i.e.: the state) that can unilaterally decide the rules, it's not a free market: for example, what about patents and copyright?
