I invested 0.5btc in ico and got 3852 KMD. But i could have just bought 0.5btc worth of btcd and got 5500 KMD?
It this true? how you have done this calculation?

I have also invested using bitcoin, haven't thought if i had purchased btcd and swap it for KMD i could have gained more than investing in ICO.  Angry

Did you bother to read the first page?

You could still buy BTCD on Poloniex and lower your average cost

We now have our candidates!

We have split the world into four different regions, and each will have its own election. By doing this we ensure that we will have nodes all over the world, and no single country can shut them all down.

Each KMD can vote once on each region or election. You can vote one node per region, so at the end you will vote 4 times.

The four regions are:
 - EU (Europe)
 - NA (North America)
 - AR (Asia & Russia)
 - SH (Southern Hemisphere)

We just passed the deadline and no new candidates can join the election. Here is what we have:
 - Number of candidates: 27
 - Nodes in EU: 20
 - Nodes in NA: 20
 - Nodes in AR: 13
 - Nodes in SH: 14
 --> total nodes: 67

Hello Everybody

I would like to introduce myself as one of the 27 candidates for notary node operator.    I would appreciate your vote as I am operating my node in the NA region which has gotten pretty crowded.   I only run 1 node and I think this is better for diversity.  It is better to have lots of operators online for better coverage around the clock.  Komodo doesn't sleep but the operators do, occasionally.

So please vote for my node when you vote your North America [NA] vote.  Vote for diversity and a stronger network!

Thanks for your support!

The voting will happen at the "check out" (ICO BTC and BTCD Swap) during the claim of your KMD at the ICO homepage. You can vote for 1 node (rnr nodes of course, hehe) in each (4) region.

I come to understand what he says.

But with his idea of elections
A much more obvious example.

90% subsidy remaining after the 7th node.
8th node 420000 votes 100% subsidy
9th node   39000 votes  90% subsidy

Winner on 9th when he does not have 10%  of votes than 8th. The subsidy becomes the most important point.

This seems very unfair neither democratic to me.

Ok, I understand now.

Unfortunately that's the situation if the notary node wants our guaranteed subsidy. There's no perfect solution.

The notary nodes need to think hard where they set the required subsidy. If they set it to 100%, then in other words they say that they are not willing to take the financial risk and cannot operate the node with just 90% subsidy.

It's not perfect, but the best solution we came up with.

One last query
Why do you rate kmd in 0 $?
I think KMD should value the ICO price. You really believe that Komodo can be worth $ 0

Thanks

You are misunderstanding something. We don't value KMD as $0.

In the example used it seems
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1605144.msg16985638#msg16985638
4000$ is 800%
100% is 500$
You are rating kmd 0
If you value KMD price ico. 100% subsidy is not 500 $ is 300$ more or less.
As it says pondsea.

Look at "The Guaranteed Subsidy" section in the same post.

In the example 100% subsidy is equivalent to subtract 500 $ from the reserve by region. This will only happen if KMD is 0. Why?
If there are only 8 Nodes with 100% in 1 region and KMD is at ICO price, only $ 2400 not 4000 will be paid.

I'm wrong?

The example is a example that was added before "The Guaranteed Subsidy" was added.

At current prices the KMD would be worth roughly $190. So for 100% it would be $310 from the $4000. This means 12.9 Nodes could be paid 100% with $4000. Now if we have everyone at 88% we can paid the full 16 nodes the same.

Looks like i was incorrect in my assumptions. The $4000 is including the KMD value. So it would be 8x $500 100% nodes or more with lesser %.

Iguana Update #14

Quote from: boogieman
1. Native builds

Last week update showed that the builds are still in development. Was not in charge for them, but planned to dig deeper and get a clear picture on their status this week.
As we discussed before, first we need to focus on Windows and Mac installers. Native Iguana Full Wallets will let found a primary network of full Nodes so that we can move further with Lite Nodes, Chrome app, and mobile.

2. Testing

We discussed what test we would apply before, this week we are busy with all tasks to setup testing infrastructure and get all papers ready. I will update on with what testing tools and flow we decided to go.

3. GUI features

We've already compiled backlog for 0.2 version, but I will be grooming it today. Moreover, I planned to compile backlog for 0.3 this week too.
