In order to do the REVS snapshot, I decided to just implement a dividends API for iguana. There are now 2 new API calls "snapshot" and "dividends". "snapshot" is passed in the symbol of the coin and the height for the snapshot, the height must be a multiple of bundle size and the utxoaddrs.<height> file must already exist in the DB/<symbol> folder. It will if you have been maintaining a coin in RT mode. The snapshot API just returns a complete set of { "address", <amount> } in an array

The dividends API uses internally the snapshot API. it also specifies symbol and height, but there is also a "vals" object, which specifies how to process the snapshot array:

"exclude":[] is an array of addresses to exclude from the dividends processing
"dust":<float> is the smallest amount of dividend that will be sent,it is not the address balance, but rather the calculated dividend amount. Set "dust":0 to send dividends for any non-zero value.
"dividend":<float> is the total amount that is allocated across all the non-excluded addresses. Using this value and the total of address balances of non-excluded addresses allows a ratio to be calculated. This ratio is applied to the address balances to calculate the dividend amount for each address. If it is less than or equal to the dust amount, it wont be sent. If "dividend" is 0, then it means to use a 1:1 ratio
"prefix" and "suffix" are arbitrary strings that are used to construct the action line: <prefix> <address> <amount> <suffix>. prefix/suffix is just the simplest way I came up with to do the REVS snapshot, I can see a need for a more flexible template for the action line, but I prefer to do such things on an as needed basis.
"system":1 will invoke the action line in a system call

Putting it all together:

The above displays the sendtoaddress lines that would be invoked for the REVS snapshot.

What does this mean?
It means that iguana can now issue dividends in any currency (literally) that can run on your system and base the allocation on any iguana supported coin. With clever use of the prefix/suffix commands, maybe even non-dividend actions can be done based on stake of any iguana supported coin

Yes they do a great job and are very enthusiastic. But isn't that a little risky, if a big amount of notary nodes is in the hand of only 2 people?
Maybe I am overanxious because I don't know all the facts and numbers...
How much power do they have after election?

Official rules, 4 nodes max per candidate. We backup each other, but both of us are independent. Together we are able to work more efficient (just one example: our common campaign has additional value for the whole project) in the interest of Komodo. In case one of us (or both of course) are unreliable or some other bad things happen the other operators are able to "kick" us out.

EDIT: The electorates need to vote for rnr OR kolo! In the elections we are two separate node operators. And there´s no way to vote for both of us in the same region in the same time/with the same ICO account.

I've been operating a TestNet node for months now. I have mined over 3500 KMD, and my node has been participating in bitcoin notarization transactions.

For this reason, I have set my subsidy at 50%, to allow the Komodo project to keep more BTC for marketing and development.

Additionally I'm only running one node because I'd rather see more decentralization, than people operating multiple nodes.

So jl777 has been involved in many projects some he started others he abandoned but none he ever saw through to the end.

Can you refresh my memory as to any project I abandoned? I cant remember any.

I have indeed been involved in many projects, but once I start it I do keep at it until it is done, even if it takes years.

I am still in the process of completing many of the projects and KMD is what enables a lot of them. Oh, and MGW has been done for quite a while. iguana is arguably complete to some degree, just missing a GUI which I dont do.

Also komodod is basically done at this point and it has a working dPoW, round robin mining, zero footprint 5% APR, assetchains, on-demand blocks, and pax completed. I probably forgot some other features I added to komodod, hopefully they wont be upset I didnt list them. With DEX, SVM generator and automated LP node, pangea in the process of being completed on the iguana side.

I estimate the amount of code I have written in the last three years is the equivalent of 10 to 20 man years of ordinary coding. How long do you suggest I should have completed it all in? 2 years?

Important note for KMD voters


Pay attention to the Notary Node candidates subsidy percentage!

Notary Nodes are paid monthly. The rate is 500$ per month. This includes the mined KMD, so $500 minus (KMD mined x Marketprice) = BTC payment.

Notary Node operators can lower their subsidy to be paid less, as most servers with the required specs don't cost 500$ per month.

By doing so, Komodo will save BTC! This BTC can be used for marketing/promotion, future development, etc. for the Komodo Platform.

You must export the privatekey your BTCDs were in. I believe the command is 'dumpprivkey' or something similar. Join our Slack and ask in #BTCD channel, there is always someone who is able to help you.

We don't have childchains/sidechains, we have independent blockchains that are able to speak to each other, and with that tech we can do things like atomic swaps. REVS blockchain is already created, there's just no GUI to manage your REVS yet.

No, the results are hidden until the elections are over. After elections we will publish everything, and the results can be validated by a third party.

There could have been some potential problems if we would show the results in real time, such as delaying your vote to the last minute.

What do you mean by locking it? We will lock them when we distribute the KMD, and thus it is important that everyone makes sure they have the seed stored in a safe place.

If your seed does not match with the public KMD address visible in your ICO page you will lose your investment!
