I notice the difficulty is still way up. If it does drop, what's to prevent someone from pointing an ASIC or server farm at BTE like last time and kicking the difficulty up again. Been around for a while and know some get a kick out of doing that kind of thing "just for fun".
I guess not much is stopping them
The hashrate has been quite unstable for a while, but recently it seems to be rising, which hopefully means that there will soon be enough full-time miners to prevent this type of thing having much effect on the network.

Looks like things are loosening up. Difficulity almost halved earlier today and quite a few more blocks being generated.

Here we go again, Lower difficulty lasted about 3 days. ASIC or server farm is back raising the rate by a factor of 4.

I have a machine that is not suitable for bitcoin mining, as it has an nvidia video card. I did mine using the diablo miner pointed to limitedloot.
"C:\Program Files\Bitcoin\DiabloMiner\DiabloMiner-Windows.exe" --url
http://8WbwCdcspsJ7ejoLSPjQP9uAuAjkWGv3DW:1@limitedloot.org:6327I cannot connect to this mining pool any more. Perhaps I changed something too subtle for me to notice, perhaps they are decommissioned.
Is there a pool that will work with DiabloMiner, or is there a miner that will work with an Nvidia card?
