After all of the years the Cryptopia victims have had to wait for any form of either justice, compensation or reimbursement they have a lot more waiting to do too whether Bitcoin, Dogecoin or Litecoin.

If I understand the situation correctly, as it stands the only real/true beneficiaries of a financial windfall have been Grant Thornton. In several years from now when the dust settles and all financial accounts regarding Cryptopia are released, we will be able to see exactly how much they claimed for fees and expenses.

If you readed the Email right and also on the Claims Portal page the first refund will be around 80% of the Amount of Bitcoin and Dogecoin you have in the Balance.
There will be a second payout later (i dont know the date , when this will be happen) and after that more Coins should be refunded to the Users.
But it clearly is written that only Coins will be refunded that have an active Network , so i guess most of the older Shitcoins are dead.
What will be happen with Litecoin i dont know but i think that they will be sorted with all the other Altcoins refund later.

Picking who they can distribute to.  I've been in these threads since they started and I attempted to give KYC to them in fact one time it even went through.
I haven't received an email from them for about a year and a half.

The NZ government should be alerted to this.

The NZ government is maybe the issue why it takes so long and what they have to go through with all its laws.
Feel free to send me a pm with your registered email and your User Name you got on cryptopia and forward it to the Support and try to solve that problem.
In the past i was able to help a lot of Users that got nearly the same problem for getting no Emails or cant registered on the Claims Portal.
So its up to you , i just can offer this help as there is a special connection i have to the support for the Claims Portal.

is the portal where we are supposed to be able to sign in.  The old password I used no longer works, and when I request a new one to be reset an hour later and no email comes.

Sometimes you have to realize it's just not you, its them.

Interestingly, they did not decide to pay the customers in the fiat amount they had on the day of the liquidation, something like the method used by FTX. In the case of Cryptopia, I believe that it would be even easier to pay out, the price of Bitcoin was much lower and most of the shitcoins were almost worthless.
I believe that with less than 50% of the remaining assets, they would cover all debts to users. At the same time, it would be a mitigating circumstance for them.

They've already collected addresses to deposit from some users, including myself. Maybe if someone has already received his DOGE and/or BTC, he could let us know.

It can be that they are taking longer time with distribution process, because the longer the case lasts the more consultation fees they can pay to themselves.

BTW. I wonder what will happen to unclaimed crypto. Also I could not find any information how much of the funds is unclaimed.

i didn't receive yet the wallet invitations ? How many like me in this collecting stage ?
this stage stage lunched on Jully 27th and no respond from them . I do have 0.149btc before the lequidation am not infected with the hack @ the stage of confirmation balance i was chocked i just had 0.046btc and thats was the last transfer i got from another user 'my brother in law' and my belonging balance was ignored till i have proof to approved , back then in march 12th 2019 i downloaded all my coins in csv form i archived & encrypted with gpg symetric password, sadly i had the encrypted archive but i lost the password . i was in contact with them on Zendesk and uploaded to them .but they need the archive decrypted so i sad to them your works is full of management and directing and IT and cyber-crimes , every connection or actions with the main platform server "https://cryptopia.co.nz" had a server logs , i mention the exact times of my downloaded csv balance and explain to them they could found all my balance back then on server logs but nothing positive comme up with their services .
So it's a nice story to see how messed up 2021 on Binnace the Etherium wave  etc ...
So annoying to see how it ends with Grant Thornton .

I'm not sure what is exactly problem, but from what I can understand they gave you wrong BTC balance for confirmation?

It is strange to me that they do not have your balance.

If you need to just give them last status of your balance in order to confirm your identity and you can not access that file anymore (you mentioned that you had your file encrypted) then you can maybe confirm your identity other way.

I remember that, in order to confirm my identity, sent them times and balances of deposits. And also I believe I sent them exact date and time of my registration. Somewhere on claims portal there was information what different data can you give them to confirm that it is really you. Most of that information can be found on email address that you used for pening Cryptopia account.

To be honest, I would have thought they would have charged much more simply by taking advantage of the fact they were holding all the recovered assets in their possession. If they even doubled their charges, who could contest the amount they would be claiming for their costs? The numbers mentioned almost doubled from the first link to the second in the space of a year.

I'm glad that everything went well. I accepted the balance but did not receive any confirmation or message after that. It could be because my portfolio is worth very little now. The most of the coins I had there are not active anymore.

Also I didn't notice that Grant Thornton said anything about reimbursement of our opportunity losses. I would have sold my coins back then when they still had value. But now it is all lost. They don't really care for that. And probably they won't even pay them back to me, because they are probably now worth below payout threshold.

I assume this is money that they already payed out to themselves.

No one speaks of the funds that will be left after payout process (unclaimed funds, staked funds that were staked for 6 years, airdrops etc?), I would not be surprised if Grant Thornton claim that. We are probably speaking about hundreds of thousands or even millions worth of tokens.

I dont know JollyGood , i just posting the News or any Updates here when i get or have some from the Liquidators.
The Law from New Zealand is a bit different as from other countries and as far as i know with Cryptopia its the first Crypto related liquidation case.

From what i know and have readed there is something written in the last Update or so what will happen with the unclaimed funds.
But you have to look there as i dont remember and have also to look for it.

It's not like anyone was going to be made whole because Cryptopia gave everyone everyone a haircut before going into Liquidation which was something like 15%-20% of your balance converted into an IOU token.

But all things considered I'll be fine once they cash me out. I guess I turned 1.1 BTC into 0.8 BTC - whatever. The real loss is the equity you kept in the company (which they allowed you to convert into saleable tokens long before liquidation) is 100% gone.

How many victims would be upset if they were receiving payments based in USD$ value at the rate calculated today? If they are unable to receive their exact funds from each crypto, I am sure with Bitcoin within touching distance of $100,000 they would not mind if the alternative would be to receive payments based on rates when Cryptopia collapsed. I hope you and other victims receive exactly what you hoped for.

It is vital that anybody posts any news as soon as they hear about it because there are many Cryptopia victims and there are many observers that would like to see this matter closed after victims have been made whole (or almost whole).

When it is so vital why nobody else try that in a neutral way , mostly all fire against Cryptopia ,
for sure there was some mistakes made but at this time there was intern things between the real owners and an Organistion (Firm) called Intranel.
And at this time as they owned more as 50% of the shares of the Company things started to getting wired.

I am sure with Bitcoin within touching distance of $100,000 they would not mind if the alternative would be to receive payments based on rates when Cryptopia collapsed.
I hope you and other victims receive exactly what you hoped for.

For that , that they can change the payments for that it is to late as the Court already determined and decided how the payback will be.
On the first payback when i readed it right there should be around 80% of the Balance you have and the rest will be made in a second one where it should be also possible
to get back other Cryptocoins where the Network is still alive and worth it.

I gave them my BTC and DOGE address but hadn't received a single coin yet. They are supposed to pay 90% before Dec 31, they have 1 month left. The rest will be paid next year, they have time until Jun 2025.
