It is a common myth that Bitcoin is ruled by a majority of miners. This is not true. Bitcoin miners "vote" on the ordering of transactions, but that's all they do. They can't vote to change the network rules.

it's a pay to talk system. No one wants to talk because it costs money. how funny.

kind of like a pay-for twitter where EVERYONE gets your message.

I can already anticipate all the VIAGRA and REFINANCE YOUR MORTGAGE ads.

Very Generous of you!

Anyone care to share their conf file? I'm pretty sure I've got it right, but would like to compare with someone smarter than me.....

EDIT: I'm getting 4.5 - 5 mh/s per 750, that sound about right?

Great, the internet provider decides to set up a wall, blocking 'suspicious' files such as wallets/miners, and only those it seems. Will need to wait till tomorrow, so that I can use the University's internet.

wow, how is that even possible? It would require a fingerprint/virusscanning system in a deep packet inspection kind of way.

Uk isp's have started doing that to prevent torrent downloads... they scan every packet as it comes down and blocks it if it seems suspicious

Trying out ccminer (ccminer.exe -a nist5 -o http://127.0.0.1:8000 -O ... -D), but it seems to hang after report some hashrate instantly first.

It looks like this:

[2014-05-08 22:44:13] 1 miner threads started, using 'nist5' algorithm.
[2014-05-08 22:44:13] DEBUG: got new work in 4 ms
[2014-05-08 22:44:13] thread 0: 1048577 hashes, 29126 khash/s
[2014-05-08 22:44:13] DEBUG: got new work in 0 ms
[2014-05-08 22:44:13] thread 0: 145752065 hashes, 10410118 khash/s
[2014-05-08 22:44:13] DEBUG: got new work in 1 ms

I would at least expect it to get new work when new blocks come rolling in? (I checked in wallet to see blockcount go up)

This is on a 670.
