Well for now you can assume that its quite stable and a worthy option to consider. It will never(not at least in the next 100 years) beat fiat, but surely as the number of users increase, could be the biggest competitor to fiat and even gold(if you talk about investments)
So it sure is going to be quite prosperous in the future, and it is the future of some money, not all of it I feel.
I am also not agree that bitcoin can replace fiat because bitcoin has just fixed number so it is really hard if we used bitcoin as the worlds legal currency. But, of course I am in favor that bitcoin would legalize and one way of legal tender. Yes, it can be the biggest competitor of fiat because bitcoin has lot of advantages compare to fiat. Example of it is bitcoin increase in value as the number of users increase while in fiat remains.

There is no way in future that Bitcoin will be legalized. The main advantage or plus point of Bitcoin is its total anonymity. If you legalize Bitcoin then that will be erased. How can anyone make it as a legal tender.?
But is also the chance that bitcoin remain anonymous but only states collect the identity verification documents just like already most of the wallets and exchanges are doing. I am sure that in the future bitcoin will be legalized by the states and will be accepted in state institutes and it will still remain anonymous.

According to NIST and ECRYPT II, the cryptographic algorithms used in Bitcoin are expected to be strong until at least 2030. (After that, it will not be too difficult to transition to different algorithms.)

Yes, and there's only 50% 50% percent that bitcoin would be the future of money because the government won't let bitcoin be the future money because it is a poison to them. But, the bitcoin population will continue to grow everyday, and this is the only thing that the government can't prevent. But I think would be the future money here online and people are not going to use fiat anymore just to buy stuffs here in the virtual world, because using bitcoin is more faster and convenient rather that using fiat.
Yes it can't be prevented by the government but what the government can do is to ban Bitcoin permanently if it sees Bitcoin as a threat to their economy. We all know that Bitcoin gives power to the user not the government. And that is what the government is scared of a currency in which they have no power to manipulate. For all I know they won't allow it to happen even in the near future.
some countries have attempted to ban bitcoin but they failed in their attempt to prevent its citizens to use bitcoin because they were unable to find out which of their citizens are using bitcoin so it is not a working tool for them. They have to support bitcoin and have to make the tools with which they will benefit their country with the usage of bitcoin.

Oh…. Maybe it takes time to happen but let us not take away the possibility of bitcoin to be the one big and world wide future money guys. We do not know what its capability since many were using it and still counting on, bitcoin is being known, and everything is possible, so it is now impossible that bitcoin will not be one of the future money.

Yes yes why not!?
Bitcoin is definitely the future of money.
Everyday the popularity of bitcoins is increasing and I assume that by 2020 almost 2-3 billion people will be using bitcoins as a source of their transactions.
This can happen as bitcoin is a very smart way of paying or receiving.
Not only bitcoin can be viewed as a source of trading but also as an investment due to the volatile cost of bitcoins. This would help people of earn fast money as a side word along with the job they do.
Trading via bitcoins is definitely a good source of having transactions as it would save the resources and labour used to create the physical form of a currency.
Thus ,we conclude that bitcoin may be the future of transactions and currency if all things from now go in favour of them.

If the adoption system is probably yes, I think the system is bitcoin system of financial transactions is the best ever, so I think the State should immediately using bitcoin.

Hardly,

1.  They have no solution to the 51% attack security attack, (China is at ~68% now)    Tongue

2.  They have no Onchain solutions to their limited ability to process transactions.   Tongue
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1762690.0

3.  They have no solution to keeping an accurate Block Speed.   Tongue
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1762690.msg17668683#msg17668683

 Cool

FYI: The Solutions are as follows for 2 & 3 but BTC Core is too corrupt to implement.

2.   Larger BlockSize or Faster Blockspeed
3.   Change difficulty adjustment from 2 weeks to every block.

I totally agree.  I would like to see a much faster blockspeed.  Diff adjustment change to something better.  Faster blockspeed = more orphans I suppose - but thats a good thing.  See it would make more sense to solo mine, and it would reward low latency and good internet connections.  So hopefully people will move out of China.  its not healthy to have 2/3 or something of the hashrate in one country.  If its offline, then unless diff readjust bitcoin is dead lol.

Three billion people using bitcoin in 2020 seems a huge target. You are taking about nearly a half of the global population. I would be happy, and it would be a great achievement to arrive to the figure of 20% of people becoming bitcoin users around the world.

Not even that big, if you will know what percentage of people in this earth which are still under poverty, you will realize your figure is unrealistic, this people is not a potential user so 20% is still a big estimate. Maybe we should be happy with the recent achievement and a slow but consistent growth would already be vital for success.

Yes anonimous is one of the greatest obstacles to a bitcoin legalized by the government from any country and therefore also bitcoin made way for money laundering.

Though anonymity is an obstacle, the Blockchain technology is into consideration among several countries to use it into financial services. Also several banks in various countries have developed their Blockchain based on their need and was under testnet.

The use of bitcoin is only illegal if we will not comply with the law made by the government. For example, in our country, we are required to update our information and comply with the KYC Policy so every time we deposit and cash out it will be accounted by the exchange site under our account.

I don't think there is no need to formally legalize bitcoin as a coins since the technology is decentralized and no one can control nor change it.

Bitcoin is really the future of money because it can be a sustainable source of fiat currency money that can be used for your additional family needs. Although fiat is a popular currency which people mostly is using since from the start of money, people has appreciated the bitcoin importance along with the fiat currency because it is an another way of currency type which is very easy to use and transact online. Not only me, but there were lots of them who has a big trust to bitcoin and it almost a big part of our lives.

I think this has nothing to do with the future of money and bitcoin... Though it can be used and popular in the future, but it can't be forever be the source of income...  Smiley

Bitcoin transaction is much difficult compared to using debit card or credit card... Not to mention that from time to time, there are people who are opening new threads complaining about their transaction... If it won't be fixed, I am sure the future might not be good for bitcoin... But money? well, it will always be there...  Smiley

Saying that you need Bitcoin to be converted in Fiat itself makes your statement false. Because in order for Bitcoin to be "sustainable" it needs to be independent and won't rely to any currency for its value. However we can see that Bitcoin is always valued via Fiat currency proving that Bitcoin won't be the future of money.

It could be but I dont really see it being the future of money.

Why you are saying it!!?

That is called doubt and it is not a bad thing. Doubting something like this is likely to happen. You cannot feel it or it has no physical thing that you can touch. A big percentage of people believe in what they feel only. Maybe someday he will truly embrace but for now respect his belief and just do your own thing.

Because he don't have any belief on bitcoin, many people are not agreeing because bitcoin has price variation from time to time. So many people don't have interest towards it. Even when the price of bitcoin goes down again so much fud will start again on bitcoin.

Not just only price variations but as of now bitcoins are not used in many mainstream businesses. Bitcoins are very popular in the gambling industry, porn and some grey market transactions and very less transaction in regular businesses. That's why new people many not believe that it can be a future money. But I believe it will always be like alternative to the fiat currency.

If I am going to analyze those things, there are few crypto currencies that can be a candidate for future money, If bitcoin will disappear. But as long us bitcoin will exist and the demand of the community will continue increase, bitcoin can possibly become the future money of mankind.

Being realistic doesn't mean you don't believe in Bitcoin's potential. It's pointless to think that Bitcoin is the future of money, because it isn't, and never will be. If I think about something that people can use instantly, without hassle, where people get some level of security on their payments, then Bitcoin is simply not a convenient way of conducting payments in a local environment when it comes to buying daily needs. Don't you think think that's an important aspect for something that carries the title 'money of the future'? Just look at how much fiat payment platforms have improved in recent years, it's impossible for Bitcoin to gain ground here.
