i switched to dogechain pool. what do you think? reliable pool? considering to move until the attacks end on multipool.

I'm using https://dogehouse.org/.  It's been reliable, but gets behind on PPLNS calculations at night for some reason making the website unavailable aside from "we're behind, x blocks to go".  But the miners keep mining and payments keep coming.. so I'm not complaining.

Pool stuck again..

Time Since Last Block   1 Hours 20 Minutes

no block found = abysmal payout

hopefully it's just frontend issue, and payment will catch up..

thanks i'll using this instead of dogechain. looks more popular maybe with reason. but i dont understand one thing clearly probably because my bad English: is it calculating rewards at night?

I've been mining doge at Multipool with 6.4 MH/s from 13:30 to 19:55 GMT+1 (almost 6.5 hours) and the reward amount for that period was 9876 coins. That's obviously wrong so I'd like to know where is the rest of my money.

Nobody answer?

It uses the PPLNS payout system, which I don't entirely understand.  It stands for pay per last number of shares, I believe.  It penalizes pool hoppers and supports long term users.  (I don't know what long term is.)  What you'll observe is your payouts will start out smaller than they should be, then it'll ramp up to normal (or higher if there are short term users there).  It also means when you leave, you'll continue to get payouts that'll ramp down.  I don't pretend to understand it, but it works.  If you google PPLNS you should be able to find a detailed explanation that might make more sense than mine.

Anyhow ... there apparently is a decent amount of calculations involved in PPLNS.  And apparently the pool does something at night that causes the PPLNS calculations to get behind.  I've seen in two nights in a row now, but all day long it's fine.  I do know the pool has more than doubled in size since I joined, and they've added multiple ports for miners to compensate.  Seems to be a decent pool.

I've been using Multipool for a month and have had a good experience with it.
Only a few cases where cgminer couldn't find work the entire time, and each day it looks like I get around 95%+ of what I get locally before rejects, which I think are higher than 5%

I am confused on worker difficulty though.  If I have 2 280X going at 700KH/s each(They run 82c though), what should that difficulty be for that worker if I have totally crap Internet?  What if I split workers so I mine one static one autoswitch?  I'm in it for the long haul so I hear difficulty doesn't matter, but surely it does some what on switching setups?
I ping 30ms to East, should I just use that, or the uspool option that auto switches?

I'm using cgminer 3.7.2, is that a bad choice for multipool? Seems to work fine.

Also about PPLNS, I just think of it as a giant train.  It starts up slow, but even when I have my miners off, I'm still getting coins as it slows down the train.  When I start back up, takes an hour to get it back to full speed, but total pay is the same.  Works for me.

It would be neat if there was a column showing if a miner is set to port 7777 or static.

Can someone shed some light on the comment posted on Vircurex's website [below]?

"DO NOT use Vircurex addresses for mining purposes. We cannot credit coins generated (instead of being sent). "

Does this mean I shouldn't autosend bulk lots of coins directly to my Vircurex address from my multipool accnt?

You can disregard this for Multipool.

This would apply for example for Bitcoin mining and Eligius, because they directly share the block reward (new, generated coins) among miners.

Most pools, including Mutlipool, collect the reward themselves, and then they reward the miners with "regular" transactions from the pool wallet.

It means if you had no separate balance at multipool and you mined straight to vircurex, they'd never credit you.  However you are fine to send from Mp to them, its not direct mining.
I think only p2p does this

Got an request, seeing the difficultly keeps going up, how about lower the min auto withdraw from 1000 doge coins down to say 250. Seeing the price hike on doge.

Thanks

I tried to mine there for 2 weeks, but when I asked their support in IRC why I have 28000 coins today instead of around 42000 I was banned in their chat together with a guy who also asked them this simple question. Since then I mine only at multipool and fast-pool with my 2 rigs, BTW fast-pool's support here at this forum is great and they have 0 fee and proportional payout system instead of PPLNS.

Hey noobs learn some etiquette! Hijacking another pool's thread to promote your own is just plain rude.

Not to mention the rest. Starting to think that lifting the noob sandbox was a bad idea. </rant>

As for the payments, it's working fine for me. Give some details, screenshots etc. if you're really seeking help.

I know how it works, have been mining with multipool for some time now. This night they didn't pay me, while my workers worked all night on the pool. Also there shows no hashrate on the statistics page since 23.01 hours CET .....

To be fair, multipool has always treated me good, but there was definitely a hiccup there for a period of time with nothing coming in (dogecoin), despite my miner saying it's working away.

Sometimes the stats are stuck so nothing is apparently coming in, but then the share backlog is processed and everyone gets paid as if nothing had happened. It happens on a lot of pools (Eligius recently...)
