dont exchanges frown upon deposits from pools?
It's "gencoins" they can't process. Which means they can't be the wallet a coin is generated to... hum, when you mine on most pools it goes to your wallet on the pool in the first instance, then it's a "normal" coin and can go to the exchange. But when you have a setup like p2pool where the coins go instantly to the wallet when the block is found, that is the sort of transaction the exchanges can't do. I'm probably not explaining it too well, but in general, if you have to set a payout threshold or manually trigger payouts at the pool then that works fine.

I've seen some pools say "don't withdraw your coins to an exchange!!" I've always done that (for none BTC) without an issue. M

Yes it is advised that you never send from a "wallet you don't fully control" to another "wallet you don't fully control" because then if there's any problems you can't see the transaction details.... in other words if the coins went missing you'd be stuck between the pool and the exchange blaming each other... and when there's some "iffy" pools out there and some "iffy" exchanges, it's better to be able to point to the blockchain and say "there" it sent.

I had a coin fork on a deposit, took a few weeks to get my coins but they got credited eventually. That was cryptsy. You are correct, it is slightly iffy as both sides can just shrug and blame the other guy for it

So don't use "iffy" exchanges. If you really want to keep 10+ wallets for junk coins on your PC, go for it. M

whichever one you want.sorry, wrong thread. this pool pays out in the coin you mine in. note this thread is now obsolete, the proper one for multipool is on cryptocointalk.com. M

I love the fact that you can fix the difficulty on this pool. When multipool.us adds vertcoin, please make it fixed diff also, as there a millions of pools with vardiff, and they all suck.

A couple questions:
I just started on multipool and I wanted to know how long it takes to get a payout? I requested one about 2 hours ago and nothing yet. I know it says every 30 minutes but are there stipulations on the payouts?
Also, I setup Cryptsy auto-sell after putting in my trade key (great new feature) but I'm a little confused on the auto-sell rules in Cryptsy. Can anyone tell me which rule I should use if I want to sell immediately at the highest buying price? 1.) sell at top buy bid or 2) immediate and complete sell?

Is this pool constantly having problems and down? Kinda defeats the purpose of mining a more profitable coin when half the time the site isn't working.

In Cryptsy, I have always set it to the "second highest bidder", for me it gives the best result. But if you are in need of the money fast then choose immediate and complete sell (lowest price).

I understood him to mean the approx BTC profit on altcoins per mh of scrypt mining, not the actual direct BTC mining rate.
