Is this using the forked merge-mining Bytecoin, or the original?

I'm still not happy at the prospect of a blockchain fork.  To me that takes away from what Bytecoin is.  I see several others have expressed similar feelings on other threads about the subject.

But I guess if people don't put their hashing power where their mouth is, they don't get a say. Smiley  I hold no ill will toward anyone who sees a different way forward.  My preference would've been that you leave Bytecoin alone and create another "just like Bitcoin, but merge-mined" coin from the beginning instead.

The fork IS a vote. You can vote with your hashrate when the time comes.

how come BTE is not showing up on coinwarz.com?

i asked for it to be removed for 1 purpose. to keep the diff and the hype low.

now comes the why?

many people are complaining about the merged mining fork saying the little people will be left without. i understood that the high diff was causing problems so i got it removed. now where's all the miners who were complaining about the fork? i dont see very much network hashrate either. so? are these people just vocal with their mouths but not with their hashrate?

In the past 24 hours, 2013-11-06 02:17:19 to 2013-11-07 02:30:50, there have been 274 blocks mined.

I do have the eloipool software working under Ubuntu 12-04 with bitcoin.  I need a Ubuntu Bytecoin client now.  Is there a binary anywhere?

I try to be respectful and informed.

That's not what I've been saying - can't speak for anybody else.  What I've been saying is that Bytecoin is a second blockchain with the same properties as the Bitcoin blockchain, and merge-mining changes all that - if people want a merge-mined coin that is otherwise under the same rules as Bitcoin, I think that's a great idea - for starting a new coin, not modifying this existing one.
