It is a common myth that Bitcoin is ruled by a majority of miners. This is not true. Bitcoin miners "vote" on the ordering of transactions, but that's all they do. They can't vote to change the network rules.

Yes, I think so - Put (nearly) whatever you like in my signature on bitcointalk for a week, for 10.0 BTE. PM to make an offer.

Bytecoin, the official coin of peace, niceness, and decency. I can say that because I seem to be the only guy posting about it. Somebody owns all those Bytecoins, though, and I notice that mining rate has gone way up and price on cryptsy has nearly doubled since I started posting about Bytecoin again. Seriously guys, we're probably not going to make a fortune, here. But Bytecoin remains my favorite altcoin. If my opinion alone is enough to inspire that level of confidence, I'm flattered, and a bit frightened, I guess. If you've benefited from the rise in price, please share the wealth and toss me a BTE or 2.0 to 8VofSsbQvTd8YwAcxiCcxrqZ9MnGPjaAQm.

Bytecoin is so decent I think we'll even decide not to make a big deal about the fact that there's some new coin that has copied the name. Fortunately, copying's not theft, so no worries! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IeTybKL1pM4But BTE != BCN. BTE stands for peace, decency, niceness, and octagonalism.

Looking at the last several blocks, it looks like some of the heavier mining might have gotten turned off today:
