Any chance BitDice will be upgrading Bitcoin deposit wallets to SegWit? I know it's a bit too soon to ask for such things, probably painful for the site to migrate, but perhaps better to do it now rather than later (since, it is going to happen sooner or later, right?). If native segwit is still going to be problematic, perhaps we could start with using the "encapsulated" ones that begin with "3"? May not seem like much but with fees currently so high, it'll save the site long term. Every deposit is an input that could be smaller Smiley

Would be better if they are going to upgrade, bitcoin deposits to segwit. But it will be soon since there are many aspects to consider in upgrading.

It is unfair for any service to impose segwit for participants until most wallets incorporate it. but BitDice could offer segwit payment as an option, it could be feasible in my opinion to reduce the high fees cost.

Impose?  If Bitdice started switching to Segwit, all your regular wallets can still make deposits and withdrawals to the site.  That's the beauty of the 'upgrade' as a soft fork because old wallets will still work.  If Alex wants the site to progress and possibly use LN in a year or two, he should make Bitdice start using Segwit.

There are already a bunch of bitcoin gambling sites and exchanges that already use Segwit. Does it make a difference to the mem pool? Barely. I think maybe 5% more transaction are included from the old regular 1MB block size.

Problem is that these Segwit transactions need to be batched. And since many people don't use Segwit, many of them are non-Segwit transactions.

There aren't even that many wallets that are even Segwit capable.

I think with the progress we are getting lately with the LN, I see usability in that. But Segwit at the moment doesnt' make a huge difference.

It is unfair for any service to impose segwit for participants until most wallets incorporate it. but BitDice could offer segwit payment as an option, it could be feasible in my opinion to reduce the high fees cost.

I don't think it's unfair at all... if you use the service, it's going to be painful but it is an eventuality. I myself do want to migrate, but unfortunately if I do so, none of the services I use can withdraw to SegWit. So I'm putting it off until ONE of them has it at least and I really want that to happen quickly. If BitDice does it, it can be one of the very first crypto casinos to do so - and the benefits are long term.

Exactly! I don't know if all wallets will work, but mine definitely will. In fact, I might even use it as my withdrawal address for the signature campaign Wink

From the frying pan then straight to the fire eh?  Lol.

Yeah but if you're going to play dice anyway, then that's the most efficient way.  I for one can't wait for Bitdice's upcoming sports betting site.  If you want one fun way of losing money, it would be betting at sports.  Grin

Sports bets will attract most new users to the site.  I did hope new things will be added faster, but I guess everything needs its time.

Sports betting would be great upgrade for the platform. To make the betting more interesting and prevent betors from being bored to some traditional betting games.

Adding it up would really be a good thing for them sometimes tradition games are boring  which if they would able to offer another type of betting they would able to maintain still on those players which is playing on the site. Changes or updates would really takes time and its a good thing seeing Bitdice is as adding up on sports.

It works properly on my browser and there are 30 online gamblers. Check your internet connection.
EDIT -- There's an issue as told by Alex
We are having some connection issues with the database server. Please expect some downtime.

You said it right and it's also exciting, as for bitdice's upgrade there will be another competitor for sports book.

It has been suggested before and it's good to see that they are on progress of adding it up.

Regards,
Alex.

Thanks for the update Alex, I hope everything is going smooth now and I don't think anyone was effected here, we all understand it can happen, such petty issues won't effect the users of bitdice. By the way Alex is bitdice going to add more alts coin this year, as there a growing trend for them to be included?

We need one more day to finish all data. Unfortunately, it took a bit longer than we've expected. Tomorrow we will publish the financial report and will start sending the dividends.

Alex

Awesome news, something to look forward to in this really bearish crypto market! I know a lot of people are going to be excited. Regardless of the financial performance (even though I know we're all expecting good things in the report), we've all got to keep in mind that the initial start is always going to be time and resource consuming, but that's how it is with all things starting out.

I'll be looking out for the future planning in detail, if that's going to be part of the financial report?

I'd also be interested in knowing the future plans and or what's are the things currently being worked on. perhaps a new and updated roadmap.

I have seen some guy over bitdice telegram channel posting about financial report for bitdice few days ago and people are claiming we will get 0.007$ per CSNO as dividends, is this true? Or you guys haven't posted any financial report yet?

I am also one of the happy token holder from ICO days.

I haven't checked that financial report, but whoever posted it might be correct on the dividend per token distribution. alex will publish financial report today and hopefully we'll all get dividends in few days.
