I also think it looking much hard to get touch $1000 by this Christmas. Maybe price will rise and can cross $800 but nobody can tell the exact price of bitcoin. With current trend I don't think it would be there.
Just be positive, there are plenty of enough time to test those price levels. Usually people prefer to spend more for their festivals and celebrations in next two weeks of time we can expect people will buy bitcoins for better saving with their shopping. These 2 weeks are more than enough to cover the differences of $250 gap. I think bitcoin could cover $250 gap in two weeks as the current price has constantly increases around 1-2% daily even though there are some declined, but I don't expect we will see $1000 by this christmas if bitcoin keep on track likes in this month. The price continues to slowly increase, but it looks like Bitcoin has run out of gas already because the trend seems to be flattening now. Unless there is some positive event regarding Bitcoin, for example, a news of some government officially endorsing Bitcoin to be used by financial institutions such as banks or hedge funds, the price should not jump well above $800 till the end of the year. Though it will all depend on what the majority of people are going to do on Christmas and New Year.

Like everyone else here. I don't think it will happen. The other thread is more likely, i.e. BTC at $800 at christmas day. That is more plausible as prices are already at $770 and just $30 more we have reached $800. We still have a few more days before christmas and I firmly believe we will reach that price. I just hope it stays at the price or even rise to up to $2,000 by next year. Good luck to us and merry christmas!

i don't see Bitcoin will reach 1000 USD this christmas. There are several factor that will hinder this price. First, christmas and new year is coming. People will probably take care of this stuff first. We may see some dips before this season because people may encash to use some of their bitcoin to finance their activity for the season. 800 USD is very possible even reaching 850 USD but not 1000 USD.

Correct me if I'm wrong on this, but earlier today the price has jumped to almost $790. Then it dropped a little, but we are still hovering above $780 at the moment, though Bitcoin doesn't seem to have much momentum left to go higher this time. A correction is likely to happen soon, maybe down to $760 or thereabouts.

It is just a normal i saw the price few hours ago this days that the price was hit $790 and yeah decreases in few hours..bitcoin is a normal that the price is increase and decrease because there is other people are keeping buying bitcoin and there is other people are looking for a timing to sell to get profit when the price hit high or we can say there is someone are monitoring the movement of price if there is a large margin pump in the price they will sell and buy bitcoin again with low price.. so for me right now we can not experience 1k value before christmass

im grateful now on the price of bitcoin right now than last christmas so if it could actually hit $1000 this year i will be more grateful because ive invested my money on bitcoin again last week so im expecting that it will grow too so 1000 usd please come with us haha. theres a lot of businessman who's using bitcoin currency because it has a lot of advantages. im thinking that it could actually hit that price this year. *crossfinger* If you made a big investment then don't worry you will make money this year and the next there is no need for bitcoin to move abruptly for you to get your earnings as long as you are willing to hold for some time you can obtain some nice profits.

The possibility of crossing the thousand dollar mark by Christmas is a real possibility but you can never expect the price would be stable by the time because you would see massive sell off if the prices crosses the magic figure.

What the he11 are you talking about !? Christmas time is almost here and crossing $800 will be success! Who think about investments now? If Bitcoin will reach $900 in March will be very good result for everyone!

Don't thank we'll get ezactly that high, but I'm sure we could come close. I tell ya, when we do get passt the $1000 mark, everybody gon' be celibate. It's gon' be like what the halving was supposed to be like. I thank this is kinda what you could call an after-effect of the halving. But we'll git there. Time to buy, mmm-hmm.

There is upcoming pump for sure but it would be not that much high value pump like halving effect. Christmas pump usually happen on every year in end of December to January hopefully will see some good price rise in this year also.

Historically speaking we have seen more of a drop of Bitcoin on Christmas than a jump to profits. For year 2013 and 2014, BTC price dropped 40% and 14% respectively while on 2015 that's the time when there's a 22%. BTC price has been hoovering over $760 - $780. If there will be some price increase it would be safe to say somewhere 10% to 15% in next coming days until Christmas shopping ends.

It really depends. For me in my opinion Christmas doesn't really have an association with bitcoin compared to a date such as halving of block reward day for bitcoin. So I don't think that it will affect bitcoin prices that much at all.
I'd say that in the short term it'll stay at around $770-$780ish, nothing major.

Don't think we'll see $1k by Christmas, but I do have a strong feeling that we will finally hit $1k in 2017. I'm excited to see what is in store for BTC next year.

you shouldn't even compare bitcoin of 2016 with bitcoin of 2013-14 everything has changed compared to those days. there is no mtgox, there is no pump and there are lots more investors creating a better and bigger spread and besides any drops after the gox pump should be ignored the same as the pump when you want to see the overall change.
