If we reaches to the philosophy behind the need of Aetrenity project then can understand which are its competitors and whose market share will be on stack at the success of Aeternity. This is a vast platform to handle many things and development so far has been such impressive and on track that one can predict future. I appreciate to re-endorse the main net release to be on schedule so far.

The only other crypto-currency which can do similar things is Ethereum, valued at over $300,000,000. However,Aeternity has a great client, Dapp Store and a system which scales better. Additionally the fact that you can develop the dapps in JavaScript is a huge asset, because there are so damn many of them. Smiley

Congrats to all the ico participants; Today is the one year date that AE has had their ico, any holders at this stage are now LONG for tax period on any gains.
Ah I forgot their were different stages at different dates, I think the first two stages are now long term.

yep there are different stages in the ico, and I remember the last stage is 1 ETH = 500 AE. and still very good returns since that time |

Ethereum has a hard coded Blocksize and blocktime. Aeternity not. And thats the trick. If Aeternity needs more TXs it adapt itself and change the blocksize and or time

I don't think it is a good idea that AE should not relate to Bitcoin. Actually, nearly all of crypto coins are paired to Bitcoin. Unless in some day, some new coin will take over of the position of Bitcoin. Dollar, as one of FIAT, is not the natural equivalent for cryptocurrency. |

This is very interesting point of view and so true that cryptocurrencies or tokens sooner or later will be measured on Bitcoin apparently. Fiat anyway is being replaced by digital currency and has almost zero usage in many Scandinavian countries. Aeternity team is planning anticipating to confront and tackle the possible challenge which can appear in future. They will have though on this as well surely.
