bitcoin is big and it will continue growing and widen the horizon of usage in the future but i don't think it can overcome paypal in the meaning of killing it. because first of all paypal is working with money and you can't kill that and also a big business like paypal is surely watching bitcoin and in case they feel threatened they will simply add bitcoin to their service and make money out of it.

Paypal has been playing the "almighty" for far too long! They dictate what part of the world to use their services, whose account gets frozen under flimsy excuses and many businesses have had to close down on account of that and they have been answerable to no one. The emergence of Bitcoin, which is truly a global payment system is such a great relief to the unbanked and neglected sojourners on planet earth.

In the first place, paypal is no match to Bitcoin and if they were to have started same time, Paypal would have been history by now. All the ride it had on the wings of ebay was because desirable was nowhere to be found, so available became desirable. However, Bitcoin have handed us the power to our own banks and transact with just anyone in the globe without anyone else to approve, look down on you or the size of your pocket. The straw left for Paypal to hold on to is the provision to reverse a transaction, but that is also a double edged sword and in little or no time just as water finds its way, the massive drift from Paypal to Bitcoin would become obvious.

Paypal is not only related to online payments system, the company is also related to some industries that Bitcoin simply can't. Funny thing is Paypal is born from the merge of two companies specialized in payments and...cryptography. Paypal is not only "online payments system". In their labs it's 2050 already
It is also e-commerce,software algorithm developpement for gov. and finance industry, selling/sharing personnal infrmations about the users, ect

Bitcoin could not 'replace' Paypal—even in the long run—as a payment processor, mainly because of government backing and whatnot. Also, Paypal is a financial giant backed up by huge companies all over the world wanting to be a part of that big system.

You are right we have no competition in these both payment systems because one is really giant and have many governments back and second one is completely anonymous and running independently without any big back but we can say some healthy competition is good for both's health's

They are both have unique features that actually needs by people if you are not fulfill in one payment method you can use the alternative one so both of them you need for online transaction or dealing to someone.. or if you want to buy something that cant buy in one payment method like in darkweb.. they are almost using bitcoin. or in amazon product you can use paypal because amazon still not accepting bitcoin.

Make crypto as your bank.

Those are exactly the ills Bitcoin have come to straighten! Going forward it is not going to be business as usual as Bitcoin is sure to give Paypal a fight for all client out there. Strongly in favor of Bitcoin is the fact that disclosure of ID is not mandatory and Bitcoin provides an uncumbered and cost effective system for international payment. People are going to be putting those attributes into perspective as they make their choice in the years ahead and there is every likelihood that a shift would take place.

I am not sure if Bitcoin will overcome Paypal some day. I am sure that cryto coins in common will overcome Paypal. Paypal's business is doomed as the business models of the most banks. I am certain of it that Paypal will create an own decentralized blockchain based currency in the future to save their business.
First of all bitcoin is much powerful and it do not need any other currency to compete paypal it alone will sooner replace paypal. For your second question in which you said that paypal will create its own crypto currency then I am not agreed that if they will start their own coin and they will be able to save their business and will stand the same as bitcoin because we have saw a number of bigger projects but still they are far away from bitcoin.

the only thing bitcoin needs is adoption, nothing else matters. if someday we can see a mass adoption happen, where every place you look has a "bitcoin is accepted here" sign then we can start thinking about overcoming and replacing bad services such as paypal and all those other online payment processors that exist today. they are all for yesterday and bitcoin is for the new age.

I think both can coexist for many years, but if people realize that there are more benefits using Bitcoin, certainly there will be a lot of users migrating to this form of payment. It is important to remember that before that, the scaling issue must be resolved, or users will experience problems when there are a large amount of payments being processed on the network.

currently paypal cannot manage its present system in a proper way, the users of paypal are facing a lot of issues and they are not even bother to solve these problems. we can see that so many big big companies create their own coins and not a single one can stand again bitcoin, bitcoin is the number one and will continue its position as number one for ever.

I think that paypal will be gone forever after 10-20 years even less because of bitcoin cryptocurrency evolution which help us to make money in bitcoin value and bitcoin also can easy make fiat money to gone forever from our market what can be really perfect because of less fees, anonymously transactions,no country feees when we withdrawal our money.Paypal also is freezing too often funds and they have poor support and eveyting poor so I dont use them and when I open my company they will not use paypal because it is poor payment service ,it will use bitcoin and other payment services which I decide I am not sure yet.

I doubt bitcoin will overcome paypal, and if such thing happens it will be fake, since any moove from one wallet into the another will count as transaction and volume, while paypal is usually money being spent online, what i mean is you can have 1 paypal account, cashout and withdraw at bitcoin you can have unlimited adress for the various purposes. But remember the ceo of xapo has been hired from paypal, soo something is being thinking about crypto world already.

I don't see bitcoin overcome paypal.
Paypal provides an easy to use payment system with a certain amount of security against fraud.
And I think that there are way more people out there who prefere the security of paypal to the liberty you have with bitcoin.

Just observed my "Maybe" vote adds to the minority. Most people votes "Yes", the others at least had made their mind up.

A Lightning Network could be capable of powering PayPal like transaction rates. There are bazillion reclames regarding PayPal, they just suck much.
So we will have to see if Bitcoins Scalingdebate shows capability to progress further. We need change over there.

There is a lot of fradud on paypal, the biggest problem is for sellers if a buyer complaints that he/she didn't receive the product, paypal refund the money (if shipment isn't tracked with firm its difficult to prove that the package arrived to the buyer). Bitcoin is safer for the seller, and paypal its safer for the buyer. I think that if you buy from trusted sellers, you haven't to worry about bitcoin as a payment method.

I felt that from the first, bitcoin is better than paypal. however, not everyone thinks like that. very many advantages bitcoin than paypal, but they prefer a payment that has been recognized by the whole world. although a lot of people who think like that, I feel that paypal has so many flaws, but they never admitted that bitcoin is better than paypal.

I do see paypal accepting bitcoin as a money transmitter making it able to deposit via bitcoin and send money via bitcoin, although I believe if this were to happen there would be many laws and regulations around it to insure there is no anonymity around it, for instance a paypal created bitcoin wallet that must have your verified information added to it and could only accept deposits through this wallet. I believe that is the best bitcoin could ever get to overcoming the worlds largest commerical money transmitter.

I think yes, one day. I dont know when, but eventually when bitcoin become mainstream PayPal will lose purpose.
PayPal is just service for sending fiat, why would people use it if there is currency that makes transactions much easier. Bitcoin is better then other currencies, with that bitcoin have functions that fiat need some services to do what bitcoin can alone.

You did hit that right on the head, Paypal is old school, out of touch with reality and lacks human face, but Bitcoin is the future, all we need is mass adoption. Good news is that Bitcoin already, is fast gathering momentum across many countries than anyone thought was possible. Perhaps we should be saying, thanks to the fiat currencies that are now turning up their open wounds, governments after governments have tried to conceal.
