Since crypto currency is competing foreign currency, expect that bitcoin could beat paypal. Ad bitcoin be supported by government, its market would spread rapidly making it be legalized and formally introduced to the market where in it can beat paypal in this case.

It could be. While Bitcoin is both a payment processor and a currency with value, PayPal only serves as a payment processor that handles your fiat balances, lacking the ability to trade it, mine it, and earn it like Bitcoin.

Bitcoin is more of like a decentralized company where you earn shares by helping support the network with your hashrate, and use it as a store of value. In this sense, Bitcoin has a lot of advantages over PayPal, and it would only be a matter of time before its underlying technology matures enough, to become used in the mainstream world.

I'm looking forward for Bitcoin's scalability debate to end, for it to increase in traction, and prove its use case in the mainstream world. Just my opinion.

I think bitcoin already surpass paypal with it's faster payment features and anonymous user transactions.
And bitcoin has been added as another payment processor in most online markets if ever you want to buy gadgets, goods and services also many countries has adopted it and start using it more than their fiat currency

yes there is no doubt that bitcoin is more popular than any other currency, in past people where using different meths to find bitcoin more reliable and confident. we can hope that in future bitcoin will be more and more trusted and reliable currency, on other side as time pass paypal is losing their properties, as we can see that in most area people are now using bitcoin instead of paypal. as the service of paypal is not  available everywhere, where as bitcoin is available everywhere.

When more people become aware that bitcoin can be sent as remittance cheaper and easier than can be done with paypal, then yes, bitcoin will overcome paypal. The thing is, though is that paypal is a company and as a company it can consciously make an effort to advertise and promote its services. Bitcoin on the other hand isn't a company and can't consciously decide for itself to go out and market and promote itself as a remittance option for payment, services or whatever.

Agree. As PayPal, has been on the scene for much longer than Bitcoin, it has gained trust from known merchants and businesses over time. However, Bitcoin being only 8 years old, has gained a lot of traction, but it needs more time for people to discover it, as it has faced some issues that has prevented it from becoming mainstream.

I believe that there will be a time where Bitcoin becomes mature enough, for it to gain a wider audience, and increase its trust in it from the people. As soon as Bitcoin scales, there will be more people into it, driving the attention of businesses and merchants worldwide to use the digital currency. There's a chance that bitcoin can overcome PayPal but we are still far from it. But right now it's not going to happen as PayPal is being trusted by it's customers throughout the globe. And in bitcoin we are still few in this crypto transacting though there are a lot of transactions happening daily. People will still stick to PayPal.

There is a chance but the truth is bitcoin is so far away from it that I think we will need to wait for a long time to see the day where bitcoin will be able to compete with paypal since there are not enough people using bitcoin at the moment.

The only reason PayPal started working is because it was able to convince central banks that it could bring them more dollars, and that was a good idea so they accept it and started promoting it and people started using it, and that is what we have to do, we need to let people know what makes bitcoin so good and profitable for everyone and only then bitcoin will become used by everyone.

I am sure it's already working in the right direction, the baby steps have been taken, and it's evident by the rise of no of people coming to Bitcoin. There's a school that accepts Bitcoin as payment, swizz has opened its doors for Bitcoins. Dubai use it to. I am sure somewhere the big brass of paypal are looking at btc and wondering how to work it out in the near future. Let's hope for the best.

I hope bitcoin would accept worldwide. It will overcome paypal due to some reasons. For security reasons, having more options, lower fees, decentralized and versatile. It is more secured using bitcoin than paypal, more oprions because in paypal they just focus on fiat while bitcoin can provide and you can convert your money in btc in any amount what you want with a lower fees. Bitcoin was also decentralized, no one could control it.

Thats a guess isn't it? Because the future o bitcoin is bright, the government in the Europe, Asia and US are now putting it into bill law. Besides, if check most online electronic, casual wear stores,restaurant and hotel which accept paypal as means of payment they have added bitcoin into their system of payment.

Agree. We should spread out the word about Bitcoin, to help increase awareness so people could trust it in a way they do with PayPal. Since PayPal has been quite some time in the scene, banks, businesses, and merchants trust it more. But as Bitcoin matures and becomes scalable, it would gather the attention of more people into it, making it a well trusted payments solution for anyone to transact within.

Exactly. It has so many advantages, that makes them attractive to merchants. There would be no ID verification, or age required to start accepting Bitcoin. Anyone can create a wallet today and get started accepting digital payments with very low fees. Plus, transactions get confirmed on an average of 30 minutes to 1 hour (sometimes a few more hours) making it much faster than traditional payment processors like Western Union and MoneyGram.

While Bitcoin is facing scalability issues, I believe that consensus would be reached to help it become a better cryptocurrency for anyone to transact quickly. Just my opinion.

Paypal has a use for the first world that bitcoin probably wont completely take over. We might take over the market cap, but they will probably still exist.
