Yes, the reason why people are afraid to use bitcoin is most surprised by things such scams. Plus the lack of knowledge on bitcoin, and this makes them not want to know bitcoin let alone use it. Though people were afraid of scams, it can be easily overcome by the trusted users of bitcoin. Now most of the websites that exist to support bitcoin growth as well providing service relating to bitcoin is legit. So a cross check is the one that helps us get rid of scams.

Mainly in world there is always certain gap within generations. Last one generation was not that much tech related and are happy with current traditional conditions. SO no one can force to these types of people by encouraging them to bitcoin.

Second important factor is awareness. Many new user just only trying bitcoin by buying them from seller or exchanger. But still such type of user dont have understand future potential of bitcoins.

I think people must have to give proper time to understand bitcoin environment. This time investment to educating themselves can increase their confidence and trust within Bitcoin.

Our childrens generation will be the bitcoin generation and they will have a hard time remembering when there was paper money. It will be someting they read about in magazines.

It could be they're just lazy to read about it though, or it hasn't piqued their interest.

I do not think it is enough to "inform people" to arouse interest in them to approach this ecosystem. you don't need to understand the technology to be able to use it. that is in my opinion one stupid approach that unfortunately most people think they should take to be able to use bitcoin and because they don't understand it or don't want to spend time understanding it, they don't use it.

If you step into bitcoin without getting a proper knowledge about it then the possiblity that you will get scammed is high and will lead to for you to quit bitcoin . And you're right if you talked about bitcoin to the people around you almost all of them will think that its a scam even though they don't know a thing about it . I did the same thing. I always explain it to people if they see me using the forum or reading posts and if they ask what are you doing then i start lecturing them about the complete thing, and at the end when i see their face they have some kind of expression that expresses confusion and i say okay it is confusing for you because you are not involved in technology.

Nope it is not easy, negative things tends to spread more and easily accepted by people than positive one.  One sample is the Bitcoin holder reaction between this two news, Chinese government imposing blah blah and Japan seeing bitcoin a legal tender, among this two the first one have more effect than the latter.
So I think that people thinking Bitcoin is a scam and others think it is illegal make people not to get Bitcoin.

Lack of education is really a big problem, bitcoin is just an instrument used for that ponzi scheme that turns into scam. Investors will understand that if they are not being greedy to take investments without hesitation expecting returns that is too good to be true. Also, if an investor wants to succeed, he must not let that one failure investment stop his urge to reach his dreams.

actually people have already scammed by different ponzi schemes, and i think you many not have introduce bitcoin to him in a proper way, i think you need to get good information about bitcoin and when you realize that now you have enough knowledge about bitcoin and you can convince a person giving him different references and examples, then you should introduce bitcoin to a person and invite him to join bitcoin world.

I think the main reason why most people do not use bitcoin is because to most of them it simply is too complicated.
To use bitcoin you must first understand how it all works, create a wallet and then get coins from somewhere.
That's really a big amount of time you have to put in it.
For many people that does not seem to be necessary when they can use something like cash or paypal.
