No idea why we are getting the invalid time when during the testnet it ran fine.

Maybe the blocks are too close together, when the difficulty goes higher it will get better, I know that the original PascalCOin had this -negative time issue also.

I'm just guessing here, but...

Because the main miner's system clock was ahead of everyone else and I guess because there's only one node, so it doesn't care.

It baffles me that this coin uses timestamps like that to allow or prevent mining.

Anyway, I added +2 minutes to my system clock and I quickly found 2 blocks while before that my cards were only really mining for like 6 seconds total in 85 blocks or so because otherwise I was behind in time about a minute.

Hopefully, if we had a handful of nodes they'd have a clear consensus of the precise time so a miner who has the time set the farthest couldn't take all the blocks.

Anyway, I'm done with Pascal and all of its forks.

Not your keys, not your coins!

Miners:
CPU & AMD https://sourceforge.net/projects/pascalcoin/files/ (maybe tweakable with pascal.cl from https://pasc.suprnova.cc/sgminer-5.5.0-pascal-1-windows-amd64.zip Huh)
NVIDIA: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=826901.0

Unless there's an improvement from pascal 2 to pascal, I honestly do not see the reason why there should be a clone of it besides a quick cash grab from the inevitable PND if I'm being real with you guys. Can someone explain?
With pool software readily available, distribution should work better than with PASC1, where in the last few weeks only those with really big rigs were able to mine a block due to diff being very high and no pool being available.

All this could be fixed with a hard fork and some software development. I don't see the justification to split and make a new clone. We saw what happened with ETH when it split off into two currencies.

The damage is done though, only the big guys stand a change in getting more than a few PASC.

Re: NO BLOCKCHAIN Invalid time: I set my Windows clock two minutes forward and the error disappeared, not sure what's going on.

Isn't that the same for Bitcoin or any other cryptocurrency that's been established? That's why pool mining is the meta if you're not mining a datacenter. So again, still don't see the justification for a new coin just to give miners another chance to mine some coin before difficulty goes up. So my answer stays no, there should not be a clone.

Miner v0.2 with pascalsha.cl replaced by pascal.cl from the sgminer from suprnova (see https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1773026.msg17700276#msg17700276 ):

Before I got 50MH (AMD 6950). Not sure yet if it works properly though or if I am wasting my time and electricity... Smiley

It should work, right?  Cheesy

@mtwelve: It is very rare, that it takes this long for a pool to appear though. During these weeks small people didn't stand a chance getting even one coin...

It's like not working, because my RX480 just generate around 500MH+ not 16000MH+, something wrong somewhere and why your block still 0?

160MH is nothing when a single 1070 does 750MH... so no, not 1 block yet. I am wondering if I should switch back to 50 MH...

Edit: More nodes!!!

takes the fun out of a launch watching greedy farm miners take all the blocks.  damn I wish the days of bitcoin being $5 were back.  oh well wishful thinking.

hope you guys have fun!!!

Please let there be a dev out there to create a coin that pays completely random.  1 cpu miner or a farm with 500 gpu's has an equal chance.

Can somebody host a node Huh Maybe that will fix this time sync issue.

You should have put a stumbling block in the way of the GPU miners to let them figure it out for at least a few hours to have a better distribution by the minnow CPU miners while difficulty was low enough. Now a few GPU miners have chased up the difficulty higher from the word go and got all the easy blocks. If GPUs could have waited for a few hours it would have been better.
