With a market cap this high I can guarantee donators won't go down in history as the smartest. The other question is yet to be answered.
There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used.

The fact that this ico has no cap has made me decide not to participate. Looking at the huge amount of money that tezos has collected i am happy i didnt. There is no argumentation to why such a large amount of money is needed besides greed. Be prepared to hodl long if you participate!

the only way it will change your life is by making you poorer while it makes the developers rich as fuck.

How much did eth collect?
I think it was 5 or 15mil

Anyway, this product is supposed to be already finalized according to the founder lady, that's an awful lot of cash for a shitcoin that's more or less already developed....

Even their junior team members will be driving lambos lol

Yeah seriously. I wish they would have at least shortened the contribution length of time if they weren't going to cap the amount of allowed contribution.

I wonder what the largest single contribution is and how much control that person or few people will actually have over the governance of this project

It remains to be seen if we are the smartest early contributors, or the dumbest donators of all time.  Roll Eyes

There is no way this will overtake 3 years of ethereum development and partnerships with fortune 500 companies....
Some people will probably be looking for the exits as soon as it hits exchanges..... To get the level of development and industry acceptance where eth is at now will not just come by magic after they launch the token

They have got so much MILLIONS they can overshadow ETH in a night. They can spend all those MILLIONS (Above 200MM atm), for a very STRONG marketing plan, then FOMO starts.

Why not? So neither AEternity or EOS will overtake or compete just because ethereum was the first Smart Contract platform? What kind of stupid logic is that, that's like saying that alts will never overtake bitcoin when alts are up  6000% in a few months. Ethereum almost overtake bitcoin in terms of market cap .

I'm a professional Spanish translator. Projects like WePower, Envion, Atlant, etc. Among others... are part of my portfolio. Hire me or sign me up as a bounty participant for your project!

By the way, how do we know this project wasn't started and abandoned back in 2014, only to be recently picked back up to cash in on the current ico craze? I find the total lack of communication by the team disturbing.

based on my experience of 'interfacing' with the Freitmans i can guarantee that you would find open communication from the team even more disturbing.

No bounties because they don't need any community, as it's just plain cash run based on the crypto hype.
It's possible that Tezos ICO is the final chord in the current ICO bubble.

yep. maybe they'll end up in a courtroom. if that happens to a 'founder' then reality will return to the space and we can all get on with building and investing in creating real value for the real world instead of this increasingly grotesque display of the dark side of human failings.

Such pessimism throughout this thread.  I think you're all wrong.  Tezos have raked in an impressive investment amount and they have some very shrewd backers in their organisation. You are completely and utterly underestimating these guys.

Hats off to them for the eye watering success with this ICO so far and good luck to them with the launch.  You have to give them credit for what they've achieved and I personally expect BIG things from this coin.  When it hits the exchange I believe that the marketing team behind Tezos will have managed to generate enough hype to stir up a lot of interest from people who have never even heard of crypto currencies, let alone Tezzies.

Crypto is all very much in it's infancy as less than 10% of the population even know what it is.  If long term forecasts for BTC and ETH are to be believed then we are really just at the beginning of this new phase of the war on currency.  Mainstream popularity will drive the value of all crypto up and opportunities like this cannot be missed.  Invest in EOS, ETH, TEZOS and BTC then sit back and watch your investment grow over the next 5 years.
