this project is very hot ,i think it will be sold out all token shortly
100% agree. I bet that it breaks previous ICO records. You can't sellout something with no cap. Caplessness is biggest disadvantage of this coin.. it could be a good thing in my opinion for a few reasons, one it stops the elite investors swarming in an taking them all up in seconds, then once coins the coins are trble tit could be a good thing in my opinion for a few reasons, one it stops the elite investors swarming in an taking them all up in seconds, then once coins the coins are tradable they tend to flood their coins into the market after making a quick profit, this means the average long term investor has more time to invest in the coin which is much better for coin holders and the company in my opinion, you don't want some big whale coming in so a quick profit. I'm in this for the long term investment as i see potential if you're after a return maybe this isn't for you. just my opinion though, each to their own

It means it can't be flipped soon after the ICO but if the money is well spent and the project is successful uncapped could turn out to be a long term advantage.

How limitless supply can turn into advantage for this coin? Check their development plan on the website they've listed how they intend to spend money dependent on how much they receive. More funds means they spend more on various parts of the project which can lead to a better product and more awareness of it. Now whether you believe they can spend so much money efficiently or not is a different matter and this is where I am a bit skeptical.

Peak Tezos, I like it.Definitely looks less interesting to me. Lots of more appealing ethereum ICOs with something unique rather than just the governance. People don't want to vote on corporate issues-witness theDAO where people did not master more than 10% vote on even the urgent security upgrade

This is why it is so easy to make money in this space. The average "investor" that you have to go up against is someone like you

2.) The $200k is a little less than 10% of my "Speculative" Funds. I may reduce the allocation down to $100k, depending on what I've determined to be the inherent risk. My questions pertain to that assessment... I'm here to learn from other crypto investors with more experience than myself.
Haha, well congratulations on having $2 million in play money. If you can afford to lose the $200K without it stinging too badly then I guess it might make sense. Thing is, cryptocurrencies tend to be very unpredictable, even the projects that have great teams and seem very promising can go nowhere in the end. That said, regarding your questions, for an ICO of this size it would be pretty unlikely for it to not end up on an exchange somewhere at some point. Whether that exchange is what you would consider a reputable one is another point entirely, but there will likely be an exchange somewhere for you to switch it to bitcoin which would then be exchangeable more easily to dollars. However, this will not occur rapidly, because Tezos is an entirely new blockchain, so most exchanges have no experiences with setting up a secure exchange for it. Many other ICOs you'll see the tokens get listed very rapidly, but that's because they're ERC20 tokens that run on Ethereum so for any exchange that already has Ethereum support it's extremely easy for them to add these new tokens as a trading pair. But for a genuinely new project like Tezos it'll take some time for exchanges to get it added, so liquidity will likely be very poor for a long period of time. The other thing to keep in mind with larger investments is that when the token does get added to an exchange somewhere, it may be an exchange with relatively low withdrawal limits. Some exchanges have ways of doing KYC/AML to increase your withdrawal limits but some are pretty bad about it, and there's really no guarantee that an exchange that will allow high volume withdrawals (in something like bitcoin which you can sell for cash) will support tezos anytime soon. So even if tezos gets listed somewhere and your holdings multiply in value, you may find it difficult to actually exit your position. Oh and the last thing is? Don't believe most of the stuff you read on forums, do all your own research. People post all sorts of nonsense, whether they're purposely lying for some reason or whether they just believe weird stuff. It's the wild west and you need to do all your research yourself.

100% agree. I bet that it breaks previous ICO records. Well, if there is no cap just block numbers timing( https://tezos.com/static/papers/Tezos_Overview.pdf), it couln't be sold out shortly. Maybe they can change their terms. We'll see. Their block numbers equate to over 2 weeks and there's no cap so it's not selling out shortly. I do think it will raise an insane amount of money though so there is a real risk of significantly more dilution than what we're used to seeing.

^ That's true. There's also the effect of a rising Bitcoin. People tend to become hesitant to let go of their holdings when it's still trending up. And there's also the risk of being trapped holding an ICO coin without a way to get out in case the SEC starts making heads roll. With all the insanity going on in crypto ICO's, I think the SEC will step in sooner rather than later.

The VCs want the SEC to step in. they're the ones driving this irrationality with their pre-sale gaming of the ICO process. once the market gets regulated the VCs have greater control. how does the SEC regulate ICOs based outside the US where US investors are not being accepted?

Yes, and most projects based on Switzerland or Singapore lately. Also they clearly say that they don'T accept money from US citizens mostly.

Hi all, I'm heading the Tezos project. A few things about the project - We have real on-chain decentralized governance, i.e. we can upgrade the entire protocol without hard forks. - We support smart-contracts with a functional, statically typed language which we design specifically for formal verification. We presented it recently at the Stanford blockchain conference and the video should be online soon. - We're starting with a delegated proof-of-stake consensus model - We are headed for a crowdsale around late Q1, early Q2 2017. We've been fairly discreet for the past few years quietly building our technology (our source code is available on Github). We did not want to go to a crowdsale without an actual working product. We're not a fork of any project, we built the entire thing from scratch in OCaml. I'd be happy to answer questions about the project! P.S. we're also looking to contract with translators and community manager. Hi there, I would like to spread Tezos in Chinese community. I have experience in spreading Counterparty (XCP) in Chinese community since 2014. And I translated lots of Counterpart documents including wallet installation guideline, BTT post, etc. Let me know if I am eligible to do the same thing for Tezos. I can do it part time, but I promise I can complete every tasks on time. Below is the Counterparty Whitepaper I translated in Chinese FYI. It is not a google translation. I translated it by my English skills. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=446330.msg4906508#msg4906508
