It seems we're going nowhere This is not what I expected when I saw the volume earlier. Such a pity... Bigger badder boom, later. Gives time to apply another roll of duct tape to your chair restraints

The Bitcoin network protocol was designed to be extremely flexible. It can be used to create timed transactions, escrow transactions, multi-signature transactions, etc. The current features of the client only hint at what will be possible in the future.

I just noticed the strong resistance that was at bitfinex around 670$ is gone. Just gone. Its like a desert up there.
Likely they are moving it to another exchange since nobody can withdrawal fiat from bitstamp. I am pretty sure a lot people can withdraw from Bitstamp. There's been some changes obviously (according to the Reddit talks..) but they're also processing withdrawals and deposits as they did before. The problems they're not facing are probably due to the changes in their banking partners. mmm, "banking problems" ... yeah, sure, right ... shouldn't sell what ya don't got. Edit: first signs of distress from Gox was suspension of fiat withdrawls ... last time it took 9 months for the idiots to clue in Gox had such a bad name before I even got in to bitcoin I just avoided them all together.. Saying that about bitstamp is pretty silly.. you're insinuating they've been robbed and or have lost cold storage coins. edit: having banking issues vs stolen coins, are so not in the same ballpark. ... ah that's what you inferred. I just pointed out the similarities. Take it how you like it but centralised storage of bitcoin private keys does not have a Stellar history. Are you willing to leave your bitcoins lying around on an exchange floor somewhere? agreed, I keep some on exchange something that wouldn't leave me pulling hair out of my head. I just think putting gox and stamp in the same boat at this point is silly. Alas without full knowledge we don't know...people asking for another proof of reserve...at least they're better on not blindly trusting.

Aren't they the only legit exchange for BTC? The process wires pretty darn fast though.

$6...70? what. We're at $517.. Looking at >$150 higher in the orderbook tells nothing about anything. But I too have noticed that the bitfinex orderbook has changed since the last downswing. The orderbook both ways is much smoother with a wider spread. It's at least food for thought.

No, Coinbase buying from Chinese exchanges instead of Stamp explains the increased volume.

"Even if they never got anything for it, it was cheap at that price. Without malice aforethought I had given them the best show that was ever staged in their territory since the landing of the Pilgrims! It was easily worth fifteen million bucks to watch me put the thing over."
