Please short if you don't mind potentially missing the train. The next ATH is probably at least three months away and possible nine months, but it's looking like a possible inverse head and shoulders and we're bouncing off the bottom of the exponential trend line. The only thing for certain is that the unexpected happens every once in a while and going full fiat means your going to lose a guaranteed 3% a year due to inflation. Dovish comments by Janet Yellen suggest it will be worse than that. Short term things could get ugly, but that means there is a pile of cash sitting on the exchange chasing a trend. that will limit the downside and all of those people waiting for $50 coins this time last year lost 90% of their coin purchasing value, even at these prices. Position yourself so that time is your friend whether it goes up or down. I once bought at $10 and had to wait 18 months to show a profit, but Bitcoin's long term probability of success is far greater now than then.

A bear market this bad is not when long term holders dump. We buy back our coins and sell on the way up. That's why we still have our coins. look at the five year trend line and decide for yourself if this is a good time to buy. The only way to loose your coins trading is by over estimating how far the price will drop or by expecting a drop that doesn't materialize at all.

If either TA worked, or you guys were actually any good at it, you would be too busy flying around the world in your lear jets to post comments on this two bit forum.

Reminds me of one of those seminars about TA I went to 10 years ago. Guy talked lots about how wonderful TA was, how good at it he was, how much money he was making, and we could be as good as him too, all we needed to do was sign up for a $99 a month course with him, only 12 month minimum.

Anybody who can actually make it work it not trying to sell shit, just like they aren't trying to make other people believe in it. They are sitting back and making money.

How many dumpers are left after a nine month bear market? I don't know except that there are less than there were yesterday and far less than last month. at some point, the trend will reverse and it's possible that it already happened. I don't know and this isn't a recommendation, but the longer we go sideways, the more bullish I get.

It is not foolproof, I am afraid.  For the fools who bought in late November, that method has been rather disappointing so far.  Wink

Again, it depends on when one bought and sold...

You say this because you don't understand what TA does and how you are supposed to use it.

Regarding TA:

It's simple:

Some people don't know how TA works or what it's supposed to do.
The same folks try to apply what they think TA is but they lose money.
Their conclusion: TA doesn't work.

The End.

So you you never sold anything even when price was at $1200 to rebuy lower?

You had a lot of occasions to more than triple you whole BTC stash with basic TA in a couple of moves.
Nothing out of this planet, nothing difficult.

I'm sure that's a compelling idea if your are not talking large numbers, but given what was going on in the BTC world at the time, which exchange would you trust with 6 figure sums of money? I store my BTC with my gold, in a secure vault. I can ride out the ups and downs until BTC reaches its potential, if it doesn't, it does not matter how many BTC i have. And if it does, i will be filthy rich regardless of whether i have x or 3x BTC. The only time I sell BTC is when i swap it for gold bullion, and i'm pretty happy with how it has turned out.

How smart are the traders feeling who sold at $1200 on Mt.Gox?

Only if they bought at precisely the wrong time, and didn't do any dollar cost averaging.

You might as well criticise Earth as a planet to live on because "earthquakes."

Bad shit happens. People will die because of bitcoin. Lives will be ruined because of bitcoin. Divorces will happen because of bitcoin.

This is also true of ice cream, hip-hop, awareness of the speed of light, cows, vitamin C and most importantly, your government.

Sorry guise, I fed teh troll Sad

My gut says an entrance at 480 can't lose money over the course of a month.
If we hit that number, I will be all in.

And you're gonna risk having to buy at 520 or higher instead because you want to save 20 bucks per coin. Makes sense.

Ask side is getting bigger. We're going down. What is it with the constant need of going down? Annoying.

Yes the sky is falling. I wouldn't worry though falling, the communists under your bed will probably get you first.

I am not an idiot.  Give me a decent upward trend, and I will buy.  Until then, I am betting we see 480-485.
