Well, even more recently Adam reported that he offered free bitcoins to some celebrity at a comics convention, but the guy declined.  So bitcoin's price was below zero on that particular market, that particular day.  Grin

yeah, well i am running that strategy atm myself. I am bought (i probably shouldnt be, but i just rebought), but I have a roof in at $400 and my drop loss at $365. We will see, but its a nice risk mitigation technique.

I have to ask, or it's going to eat my alive: what's the difference between a drop loss and a stop loss?

Is it related to a timid order? Or a barge in account?

ah well i am involved with haasbot, which is a bitcoin/altcoin bot. One of the features it has is roof in and drop loss (drop loss is basically a stop loss on an exchange), whereas a roof in will execute a buy if the price that is entered is reached, which is $400 for me, atm.

Trying to understand this, please bear with me, you mean you now are nett long around current prices which you will stop out at 365 and take a loss, but if the price breaks thru 400 then you will add to your long?

no, this is without leverage, as I will being going to sleep soon, so I don't want to miss any action based on what happens while i sleep.

You mean you have no open position at the mo, but the bot will sell short for you if the price breaks below 365, or buy on a breakout above 400?

Damn you Chartbuddy, stop trolling us!

Looks like it was a mistake to put him in charge one SilkRoad 3, he started to plifer the stash (though I understand Adam needed a quick solution and it was faster to reporpuse an existing AI for multitasking than creating a new).

yeah i don't have a leverage position outside of being bought with bitcoin. I will re-evaluate it in the morning, though. Basically the way I have haasbot set up is to determine if I should be bought or sold while I sleep, but deal with leverage trading yet.

Note: we are working on adding in leveraged trading for Haasbot though via trade bots and order bots, which will be very interesting once we get that worked out.
