..usual drivel..

People usually forget the good things and remember only the bad. Funny thing that you're using a German invention to write crap about them Wink

Now that we have Konrad_Zuse's marvelous invention, you don't even need to ask--just type away! Smiley

Lol, other than losing a couple of grandparents in the second world war they've started, I got nothing against Germans.
Lol @ "invented [computer]" tho.

They started a war, my grandparents died in that war = they killed my parents. This reasoning...
FYI they didn't start the war alone, why don't you blame Italians?

Wow that is a lot of passion for a bitcoinboard
Not just here either - on Reddit as well:

Yeah, this forum has been rather slow lately.  We are still in school vacations down here, and, as you know, I only sleep during my own lectures.

of course it is possible, as it is possible to return to $1000. The question is: what comes first?

Since you have a hard time with derivations, allow me to fill in a few blanks:
1. Germans attacked my country [see: Barbarossa].
2. During that war, Germans killed my grandparents. One of them--subhuman cattle, aka Slav--killed in battle.  The other, a filthy Jewess, was one of the millions of civilian casualties, but hey, lebensraum, amirite?

Anything else I could clear up for you?

Well, according to one of the nazi nutjobs that Wash. DC neocon nutcases put into power there in Ukraine it was the other way around. The Soviets invaded Germany.

 Undecided Huh Undecided

Sent a bank wire to bitstamp 6 business days ago and it is not yet credited on my account. Traditional banking is bad but the bank wire should have arrived already.

I should say I omitted the reference number in the bank wire but it should still be easy for Bitstamp to find it, yet they say it didn't arrive.

The support answers more quickly than before they got hacked of 19,000 BTC but they apparently still struggle to credit a simple bank wire.

Share your experiences.

New information from Bitstamp :

"The information on your screenshots appears to be correct. However we recently learned that an intermediary bank, Standards Chartered Bank, which is processing USD denominated transfers for one of our banks, appears to no longer be processing bitcoin-related wire transfers. As a result, those customers who have made a USD denominated wire transfer since Monday may have their deposits returned.

It appears this may have happened in your case as we are unable to locate transfer with the provided details. If you did not receive the transfer back to your bank account yet we kindly ask you to please contact your bank and request a transfer trace."

"may have their deposits returned." Lol.

A guy claiming to be the Silk Road 2.0 programmer is offering their database for sale:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=952177

The guy may well be a scammer, of course.  One interesting detail is that he claims to have "usernames and
hashed passwords of 476,122 users, 51,490 deposit addresses, 7,756 plaintext passwords, 13,280 product listings, 52,481 private messages, 145,493 transaction records".  If true, those numbers may help estimate the number of bitcoin users.

How would he have more than 3 times as many users as transactions?  Is it plausible that 2 out of every 3 people who registered at the site did not order anything from it?

How on earth would it do that?

Why do German words always seem like they'd spell something kickass when written backwards, only to disappoint me every time.

In order to access the silk road you had to first register which took a few seconds, no email confirmations or anything required.

You just had to type in whatever "username: blablalblabala" "password: w983z9r8h2" and boom there you go a new account and you could check what the site was.

I guess a lot of people who heard about the silk road and were interested in knowing what it was were forced to register an account every time they wanted to check the site out of curiosity.

You judge Europe as if it's a singular behemothic superstate.

HUH?? I implied nothing of the sort. It's a multi-juristictional bureaucratic nightmare, But which country is in which organization is not really relevant to my point which is that a monetary union cannot succeed without fiscal and/or political union.

I used to think the U.S. Dollar was the worst possible form of currency, marrying fiat with fractional reserve lending, but you Europeans actually surpassed us. You combined the inflationary instability of fiat with the inflexibility of hard currency AND fractional lending. Wow, that's an accomplishment. I mean I know the Euro is nothing like a PM-backed currency, but to member states that need to adjust monetary policy differently, it might as well be.

and the winner is.... german export blitz.

to the german export industry the euro is not a nightmare but a wet dream come true. an economy with such export strength would sooner or later get a stronger currency = higher prices for their goods = less sales. germany is (ab)using the weak PIGS countries as class a weapons in the currency war.  it could not work better for them.

all this just to get a giant trade surplus.

Are you insane or just stupid? What good does it do to "sell" exports to people on credit when they default on the credit? How beneficial is it to give your stuff away? A trade surplus just means you're giving more stuff than you're getting. That's BAD not good. A weak currency helps your exporters but hurts you when you have to import the raw materials and energy. It's also terrible for capital formation (savings). There's a name for a condition where everybody works but nobody gets paid. It's called "slavery".

i would appreciate if you would consider not to insult me for things that i am neither responsible for, nor do i defend it, nor do i think it is good. the german export industry und merkels drakonian austerity regime ARE THE CAUSE for the current crisis and they are benefiting the most from it.  the media overhere have brainwashed the average people telling them the "lazy" southern countries make germany pay for their laziness. that is, of  course, bullshit. germany has tried several times in the 20th century to overtake europe. in the 21th century they try again, not with tanks, but with export blitz, austerity regime & €. merkel destroys europe.

edit: spelling, changed germany/merkel in the last sentence
