if satoshi was with us today we'd already be at a 20MB limit.
...looks like he was in charge when  the 1MB limit was introduced.

he also said to up the limit as time went on and network grew...

Makes sense. I really think this is a storm in a teacup. People will be disappointed at how mundane and boring this will resolve itself.

saying no to the 20MB block limit is going against Satoshi's wishes.

lol for real, it's crazy how all up in arms people can get here about small things. in the end 90% of the argument is purely for the fun of arguing, and the update will be accepted by all.

Yes it is, Debates are always just for the fun of arguing, we already know it needs to happen and will happen so we just want to waste time waiting for it to happen. All fun and games in bitcoin until the price takes a dip then  Shocked

yes poeple like to argue against it to show off there knowlage of the inner wroking of the network

increasing the block limit could make X Y Z happen, because bla bla bla, so we should try to go with this crazy complex solution that can't possibly be ready in time, which will reduce the traffic on the main chain by 40-20%.

if you're lucky the chain will be so weak that poeple won't see it as a threat and won't bother attacking it.

I've been dreaming of seeing a core change in which there's a bit of a battle and ultimately 1 chain survives while the other dies

so exciting watching bitcoin grow up.

If there is a war then which one will chartbuddy display? I assume he'll display whatever the three exchanges use, but will they all use the same client version? Will one of them be using a version with a broken blockchain, constantly getting 51%'ed  and spammed? Will it keep showing no trades while the other two exchanges look normal?

Gavincoins are a PITA for miners too, so I don't think so.

If everyone switches, I'm gonna solo mine the old coin. At current difficulty I should find a block roughly once every 42 weeks, on average.

(PM me if you'd like me to include your transaction, I'm sure we can work out a deal  Wink )
