I never lost faith. Kept buying bitcoin even especially at the despair level under $300..

Amen. Think of all the cheap coins that ended up in our wallets because nitwits sold when the price dipped. Greater fools chasing their devaluing fiat currencies, how pathetic.

I couldn't be happier with our wonderful Bitcoin. Also vindicated.

I suffered through declining prices in early 2014 when the Chinese government was coming down on btc. Suffered through the Gox fiasco and the resulting declining prices although I lost no funds at Gox.

Suffered through thievery and scam. Vircurex, Mintpal, and Homero got some of my btc.

Suffered eye rolling from my wife. Evaded questions from friends and relatives.

All the time, I never lost faith. Kept buying bitcoin even at the despair level under $300.

Today I'm a hero. My wife showers me with adoration. My friends and relatives look at me with new found respect.

Don't be a loser. Buy bitcoin. When it reaches $10,000 you'll be a hero too.

I share the sentiment. Gox'd, Cryptsy'd, all the rest. Told friends to buy @$100 and got laughed at. Then got laughed at during The Great Bear of 14-15. A ponzi, a scam. Will be regulated out of existence. Still told friends the base case hasn't changed. Buy @$300. Now, crickets.

it's dumb to tell anyone to buy anything. if they haven't figured it out for themselves then they shouldn't be introduced to something they're not gonna fully understand.

The price went from $690 to almost $1000, it's ok not passing the $1000. Hanging around $900-$970 ore so is still a very good ending of 2016, its up with 100% anyway Cool

We still sleep good tonight and having a great party at new years eve.

The walls are frequently put up in the opposite direction to the way the price will move. Stepped sell walls on finex could be a signal the price is going up.

Amen.

When prices are rising, I'll wear my BTC ballcap and when people ask about it, I'll answer their questions and perhaps tell them about how much I've earned in 4 years (on paper) by holding bitcoins. I do caution them that if they buy in, they should hold for at least 2 years and preferably 5 or more. I never tell them to buy.

Some of the smarter ones look into it, buy in, and thank me later for turning them onto it in the first place. Those who passed on the opportunity generally keep their mouths shut.

Of course most people don't have a clue what the BTC on my hat stands for. You'd be surprised how many people think it has something to do with the Boston Bruins hockey team. Other than telling them it stands for Bitcoin, I'm not gonna try to explain anything to them unless they ask.

Pearls before swine.

I'd be more worried for the 14.5k BTC in red shorts. ATH shorts in $ terms and I think the worst ever ratio to the longs ($21mm).

Thats why the sell side is huge, the shorts don't want to get squeezed. Almost the entire sell side is shorts waiting to be filled, so they "try" to safeguard already open shorts while "trying" to short the top as well. It usually never ends well for them in a bull market, but Im not going to tell a bear that.

It's become a strong rally indicator.

Indeed, as if we needed another.

Just the fact that every time lately that they try  to knock it down and cause a panic dump, it fails and the price bounces back up, is a strong rally indicator.

This isn't some flash-in-the-pan bubble top begging for a crash. This is a sustained rally with corrections all along the way.
