Good chance there are also stolen coins among the many coins we own by now. People are willing to pay a premium for freshly mined virgin bitcoins.

That´s the problem with a transparent blockchain and that´s why monero is rising right now

And that won't lead to monero attracting special attention from the FBI and having its fiat gateways tightly controlled and resources ploughed into cracking the cryptography that will eventually expose the whole monero blackchain.....  Roll Eyes

Bitcoin is absolutely right to have a transparent blockchain, it just lacks the optionally private transactions that Dash has mastered with PrivateSend.  Obfuscate the transactions, not the whole damn blockchain.  Ah well, people will learn.

Does anyone know Kraken's policy in the event of a coin split?  Have they announced one?

The laws of maths are stronger than the laws of men. Good luck cracking the XMR cryptography. Also, the whole Dash is so cheesy that is almost respetable Wink

Please dont compare this shitty scamcoin with Monero.
"it just lacks the optionally private transactions" <- this is a feature not a bug, anonymity by default is a necessity for a anon cryptocurrency.

In the light of the recent exchange drama, did Bitfinex in the end resolve its banking issues (deposit/withdraw USD)?

According to the same documents another part of the stolen from the attack on Mt. Gox arrived at a San Francisco exchange office.

Poloniex

Wait for the shit storm..

Poloniex is:
VCORP Services LLC
1013 CENTRE ROAD SUITE 403-B
Wilmington DE 19805

Why do you say it's in San Francisco? Sock FUD?

VCORP Services LLC is just the registered agent, many companies incorporate in Delaware for tax advantages. Does not mean Poloniex offices are in Delaware.

Anyone calling Dash a "scam" nowadays only displays wilful ignorance.  If you'd like to educate yourself please come over to the Dark Coin ANN thread, otherwise please keep your libellous remarks to yourself.

A scam is a scam, it can't be unscammed by time. But more dangerously you are promoting a non fungible coin for its privacy features (a true contradictio in terminis). So please stick to your own advise and stay in your little echo chamber.

I assume from the lack of response regarding Kraken that they haven't released any statement as yet?

Well, Dash has a ninjamine that borders in the scam zone, depending on where you want to draw the lines. The masternodes are a point of fragility and the trasactions are easily traceable. I said it was cheesy, not a plain scam. Dash is way better at the PR department. They have art selling it to the uneducated people, that´s his strong point and his curse

Sigh. If it earned you a few dollars, good for you. But please don't state features and facts that are simply not true.

Dash is fungible and private

https://bitinfocharts.com/top-100-richest-dash-addresses.html

and absolutely not a scam nor has it ever been.

There are a lot of different perspectives out there. All we can do is hope for the best in all of this.

Owner Of Russia's Largest BTC Exchange Arrested – Money May Be Lost

"... According to the latest report, Bits.media received information from the administrator of the qugla.com service, which conducted the marketing campaign of Humaniq, saying that Alexander Vinnik is indeed one of the owners and administrators of BTC-e.

He stated, that another administrator of BTC-e probably has access to the exchange, and now, most likely tries to solve the situation. He also stated that the future of BTC-e exchange is uncertain and user funds may be never returned. He continued..."

Tears coming.. Big ones..

“Forecasts are disappointing. If within 48 hours the situation is not resolved in a positive way, with a high degree of probability you can forget about the money.”

Btc-e leftover admin already stated 5-10 days..
Leftover admins have no acces to btc-e wallets!
We are going to see dip bigger than ever.. 700-1200 USD

You were able to find an ATM that had only 3% fees or did you purchase using a different method?

I used the ATM nearest to my home. It is a Lamassu operated by Instacoin.

They use dynamic pricing, presumably to balance their inventory of bitcoins and dollars. If they sell more coins than they buy, they raise their buy fees and lower their sell fees and vice versa.

That suits me just fine as it's precisely when there's a panic dump that I want to buy the dip.

Thanks for the info!  I went with a buddy of mine to use an ATM in Scarborough one time (there was one in the Scarborough town center); they wanted 10% and I wasn't about to pay that much.  That one disappeared in 2015 and I haven't done any research since then.  I see now after you piqued my interest with the possibility of low fees that there are now machines much closer to me with lower fees. Sweet!  I didn't even know they had variable fees.  Field trip!
