well minor at least
There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used.

http://www.coindesk.com/bitcoin-price-falls-btc-china-exchange-shuts-fiat-deposits/

Quote
BTC China told CoinDesk it is expecting to reinstate deposits in RMB soon. Bobby Lee said he is now working with another third party payment company to try and reinstate RMB pricing, and is hoping to make an announcement on the Weibo account in the next few hours.
It's not gonna happen, 3rd party processors are forbidden. At best they will end up in jail

“That’s where the problem showed up. If we’re not allowed to deal with third party payment companies then they can’t take deposits for us on behalf of customers, and then we have this catch-22 where we can no longer operate our bitcoin exchange as before,” Lee said.

At least he admits btcchina is finished, another third party payment company makes no sense at all.

It makes me sad and pissed off that so many smart people here (me included!) get run over by trading.

I'm interested in putting together some quant tools, some portfolio management and position sizing tools, etc, etc, and working with other people here, so that we can have some education to move us away from gambling towards real wealth creation (a la a hedge fund type system)-- probably in a something like a club, at first. I have to program quite a bit of architecture first, so it's a ways off. The tools would allow us to essentially customize our approaches and handle multiple API's on multiple coins and exchanges. You could say I'm just past the 'napkin drawing' stage.  Wink

Would anyone be interested in that sort of thing?  Smiley

I am already building this and it is almost done.

Hmm, something about great minds... Are you interested in collaboration? I'm not a quant, but I see that there a many tools lacking in this space.

You can check it out.  It is not quite done yet, but I am very close.  Will want to get some beta testers together for launch in 2014.

Great! Very nice! I love the BTC community (now to just get a job at a BTC company).

This is a wonderful start-- I'm interested to see how far you go with portfolio management! I had some ideas that were quite different, but certainly will use bots. And, I'd love to beta, if you'd put me on your list?

Yeah for sure.  If you want to you can hit the register link and setup an account.  Not sure how experienced you are with requesting MtGox API.

You can visit this link for instructions.  I will elaborate on these instructions when I have time.

http://traderbotz.com/about.php

In the instruction page you will see that it asks you to add btc funds to your traderbotz account.  You will not need to do this for beta testing.  I will make your account have unlimited trades during beta phase.

Still at work now, but I will upgrade your account in a few hours when I get home.  It may be tomorrow before the trading begins.

Will the majority of the sellers buy back in after it's clear the bottom has been hit? That's the real question here.

Yeah, what else are they going to do? Put it a bank and watch it earn 0.5% APR or worse take a -50% haircut when their bank goes bust.
