We needed more regulation around this bitch.

the rules of this thread is an attempt to keep this thread from having +1000 post when price is doing big moves, and instead relay important indicators during critical moments.
also when the market is more calm we can expect to see wall posts and TA price charts, back to back without any relevant chatting, making easier to analyze.
there are other threads where speculators can discuss their sentiment, just not here...

Interesting pattern I've noticed. It's been sort of bouncing downwards for the last 4 days. Is there a technical term for this sort of thing?

Trading while intoxicated however, seems the same as drunk driving - a recipe for disaster. Do not drink and trade! Also I advise not smoking pot while trading - I note that Mt.Gox does not have a 'are you sure' confirmation dialog before accepting the order, and if the market is at 120 and you mistype and issue a sell limit for 12, it will in fact sell at 12 and not give you the market price - right?

The new hardcore is getting harder by the day...

Mt.Gox has its history of fulfilling market orders simultaneously from the buy and sell side, with a 30% spread. From their own published data, I can read that 40kBTC changed hands after the longer cooloff period, before the shorter one was announced, at an effective slippage of 10% on average.

For their own sake, I hope that this $300,000 did indeed end up in the lap of the legitimate counterparties of the trades. Even if not, it is not at all too late to amend the losers by returning the spread to them. My proposal would be that Mt.Gox calculates the 5-minute average of the trades during that period, and gives restitution to both buyers and sellers, if their trade was executed at a price which is disadvantageous compared to the 5-minute average. After all, they promised that the trades would be void of fees..

After watching the other wall charts/wall chart thread for a long time and noticing along with some other people that there was a 10 pages to 1 bitcoin ratio most of the time.

I think it's funny that that thread is now locked at 1200 posts and the price is right around 120, there's my observation.

Well due the fact that Bitstamp is down due to an "unscheduled service outage" it's not looking good for their plan is it

Yeah.. I can't help but think that this at least partially has to do with the pastebin that's been going around. Between here and being on the /r/bitcoin front page, several thousand have seen it.

It's completely fake, but some will still sell off ahead of time just incase. That's probably the goal of whoever wrote it in the first place.

Kind of frustrating how easily this market is manipulated.
