Did I ever tell you that only fools invest in currencies?

Up until now, that was a wise rule of thumb, when currencies were invariable inflated constantly.  That does not mean it is an absolute truth.  Indeed, why not invest in a currency with a fixed monetary base?  If it ends up being used, and the savings rate and money velocity remains the same, you will gain purchasing power equal to the increase in productivity increase and population growth.  Bitcoin is still experimental, but in the future it could end up becoming a standard and perhaps even the safest of all investments.

Buying bitcons is not an investment. It is preserving the purchasing power of your capital.

At the moment, volatility is way too high to be 'preserving your purchasing power'.  It is not only an investment, but a wildly speculative one (but in my mind a very asymmetric one in risk/return).

that is assuming the market is a closed system, but it's not.

there's constantly new buyers entering the market, who also want a share of the pie, but the pie is very limited, so the more people want a share, the more expensive the shares become.

Sure, a lot of bears lost money, which made a lot of bulls a lot of money (for the first time in years, at this scale at least), but a lot of gains also come from new investors.

Give not that which is holy unto the dogs etc. How many times must this be repeated, Jorge?

To get to new highs BTC has to make short work of 400-1000, everyone knows what happened two years ago, $1000 is complete expected for all buyers right now....I have no idea who is dumb enough to sell a single coin with this trend

1000 is hard dude. $31 after sitting between 8 and 5 for a year was not so difficult. somehow 1000 after sitting around 200 for along time seems harder, though the ratio is not so different.

If I owned that 6k short on finex, I would cover slowly if I was still trading with or against the price. If I wanted the bubble to pop, I would cover 50-70% of my position hoping to create a top.
