When people say that no one can control bitcoins price and it's not decentralized, I feell like they are talking shit.

If someone have over 500 btc, they can easily manipulate the market in their advantage, imagine if someone have more than 500 btc, imagine 5000 btc.

No denying that it's a relatively small group of people who are dedicated to batting the price around but you can only sell once. And on days like recent times you'd be a blip in an avalanche of noise with 500 coins.

Lets just see where things will go, I think we will get up to around 700-1000$/btc, and that would be very good for those who have hold their bitcoin for a long period of time. I bought some coins one year ago, and never sold any and I am still holding and waiting for a higher price, then I'll decide. But it's been tempeting from time to time, to sell, but then I would of have lost a lot of money.

You still have plenty of time (to lose lots of money, that is).

why such a buildup before the auction and dump right away? the auction is tomorrow isn't it?

i don't get it. unless the auction has zero influence here

it has zero influence. The auction is abbout 44k coins. Thats less than the average volume of one hour on the markets.

It isn't about the 44k coins being auctioned, it's about the government dumping all it's market manipulation coins..

It was just as an example, but with 500 btc u can easily sell, then make the market fall and buy back when the price is lower. If you are working in groups, as those who manipulate the price are, then they will make lots of profit and just manipulate the system as much as possible.

Imo, they are the big early adopters, not someone with 10 bitcoins which they bought for $1 each or so. They are early adopters to, but in a smal amount.

Pump is over for the moment.
Let's hope you locked-in your profits.

Now it's again time to wait and trade wisely.

Bitcoin is fun with 100 BTC to just gamble. Poor beggars with less than 10 BTC.

In other news, on BFX  LTC crashed to 3$ and instantly rebounded to 4$, another missed trade, story of my life...

Better than losing money, I guess. Sell high, buy higher, hold when it crashes, story of my life...

LOL good luck "manipulating" the BTC market with 500 only. You'll be firmly and totally ignored.

Coincident to-the-minute with the 405 bottom for BTC.
I learned this painful lesson the hard way - the liquidity of the Litecoin market on Bitfinex is too shallow to take large positions.
When you need agility to take advantage of a short-lasting bottom, the slippage on the LTC side is too much to bear.
