Ignore him. Taking individual responsibility for helping others breaks his view that the government is the only body that can do so and therefore must take the wealth of others by force. (Even though, as you say, you yourself have not made it political).

A few things to note that might help you though:

• The "BTC tipjar" thing at the bottom of your post offers no explanation as to what it is about.
• A link to a website explaining what you do and how would likely be helpful
• Consider linking to a QR code of the address. Text versions of QR codes are a PITA

Of course.  I was thinking that maybe some of the people that are bidding on the auction this morning will wait until it is over to buy more and that might start our next little rally (or big rally hopefully) after 18:00 UTC which is in an hour and a half.  

so bidders are bidding, probably a good turn out this time since it's the last one. not as many coins this time too. which means more losers, which means more buying pressure after the auction, we should be at 520 tomorrow when the winners are announced, no reason we should let the losers buy coins for anything less. then to the moon because, no more 50K BTC auction every couple months = that much more buying pressure on the exchange. and where does the selling preusser come from, judging by recent market movements ( CCMF style run up ) bears are flat out of coin, and it's up to bulls like me to try and determine what is to "high too fast" (like i did last night, when i sold and bought lower )... if bulls are the only sellers left.... we're going to the moon, if we're going to the moon we might as well plan a trip to mars, call obama, it's time.

Nice theory but the auctioned coins are not much compared to the newly mined coins (about 3600coins/day). How often have they auctioned coins? Three times per year? You do the math..

the coin amuont itself is negligible, but the psychological effect on people who have no clue will be there.

"50'000 coins? wow that's alot, i better dump my stuff", add some manipulation, a minor dump and watch the panic cascade unfold. butterfly effect to some extent

I'm no expert, but I think the problem of the homeless is that they are without a home/residence. How is giving them "a coffee and a bagel" remedying the situation? And if it's not, how is that "[t]aking individual responsibilty for helping others"?

If you're just using other peoples misery to make yourself feel good then maybe you should just keep it to yourself.

It is not remedying the situation, it's showing some direct kindness instead of expecting others to deal with it.

Whatever the reason behind it, the homeless person is there and likely hasn't eaten. What you do about that is up to you, I guess. (Though established homeless charities will likely make better use of the money).

Unless you're up for offering the homeless a room in your house, the homeless will stay homeless 'til the community deals with the problem.
That's why society works -- because Bob don't have to take 'individual responsibility' for the nuclear reactor to have nuclear power, and don't need to do home surgery to have medical care. He 'expects others' to do it, and they, in turn, expect Bob to do his part, like pay his frickin' taxes instead of ratting away the money he stole from his community, and stashing it in internet magical beans.
The DIY ethic only takes you so far, life is a collective/cooperative, not individual/competitive, sport.
