Ask yourself, are you an idiot? If not then don't sell.

BTC price appears to like W forms lately
Nah, BTC price likes π forms lately. ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fs32.postimg.org%2Fvyiafqm8l%2FCapture.jpg&t=663&c=TdY8TlFUormG8w) I suggest being very vigilant!Someone is making a lot of money out of those swings.... To be honest the psychological aspect of this sh!tstorm is basically to make you feel comfortable and just hit you will a rocket higher than Everest that will reach another Solar System! My instinct is to place millions of longs and rely on the fact that the price will not evolve too quick... and that I will have time to not be taken by surprise... But I think someone is playing us... its like someone is playing with a donkey, holding a carrot on a stick!

At this stage the halving will tell. It is an important step in the Bitcoin journey. I personally will wait for miners reaction to make any move: in the end are going to lose the most out of that (unless, of course, price will skyrocket...)

Anyone know how effective leverage is on bitfinex?
If I open 3x leverage position here, the Margin call would be around $445 right? And what does it cost to keep a poisiton for a long time?

I don't know about finex specifically, but in most exchanges it adds up to about ~30% per year.

Don't do it ... everything is weirder than normal... they want you to relax! ... It will go Moon! But, maybe if you wait a few more days and see where the manipulation goes, maybe then you will make a better decision. Just sit on it. ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif)

You assert your prediction with such certainty, which already raises red flags that you are just speaking nonsense and likely counter-factual information. O.k. I will bite a little bit. Do you mean actually $500? hahahahaha That number doesn't seem too likely in the coming months... Maybe there is about a 10% or less chance to reach $500 in the next few months? In fact, currently, BTC seems much more likely to break over $800 before it breaks below $550, so even if there is some kind of chance that we could break down to $500, it seems to be more prudent to place your bets on upwards price movement before placing such bets on downwards... or at least prudent to place a portion of your bet on the upwards price direction. On the other hand, if you bet any kind of portion of your BTC allocated funds of more than 10% on a bet that BTC prices are heading down to $500, you will be gambling beyond reason... and in that regard, you may as well go to vegas, if that is what you want to do.

When I look at the charts, lately I see mostly oganic growth (slow, incremental), and large, not so organic dumps. 'Mostly' is an important word here, there are plenty of pumps too but they occur less often in my observation. It looks like the big players are trying (and succeeding) to keep the price down. This is of course slightly frustrating for the hodlers, who are impatient to become rich. It is, however, a good thing for all those small investors who have been coming to BTC more and more of late. I see this happening in my own surroundings. I'm glad they can get in relatively cheap.
I am looking forward to the day tho, that the marketcap is so big that whales have far less of an influence.

I don't know about finex specifically, but in most exchanges it adds up to about ~30% per year. Yeah, at the current rate of around 0.065%:- 1.00065^365*100-100=~27% per annum. Of course, rates can change if you need to renew the loan. They're currently over twice as expensive as they were earlier in the year.

Well... here you go! .. Charts & Projections!![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fi.imgur.com%2FZ6qHMGX.jpg&t=663&c=Zu1R9fqJ5mlsPw) And another to be more convincing of the same structure...![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fi.imgur.com%2F8LUCtrV.jpg&t=663&c=Hv8c9UV7xZ-uJg) And one that hits closer to home on the calendar! *Edit: The thing is that it will take 4-6 weeks till we get to somewhere between 1500-2500$ ... and that will happen probably before September hits... and meaning after hitting that 1500$ - 2500$ sweet spot it will suffer a correction! But it will not go under 1000$ after that!!!
