When are you getting back home safely ?
I am home I sold my house in the US last year. I'm an expat. The world is my home. I have a price point that I am working toward, when I hit that number (or the bitcoin price hits that number) I will book a flight and leave. Probably go live in Asia or French Polynesia. (I am planning on staying out here for 2 more years)

Being the government and it being a Friday, I would expect the announcement to be before 4PM EST.
Look at you. Conspiratorial. Not a conspiracy. I just work for the government and know that usually on a Friday people take off early. Woops... I had to edit my previous post because I meant to refer to your comment about the DDOS attack, but instead I clicked on the wrong post... This point about the government saying something before 4pm, makes sense... but the DDOS attack seems a lot less likely to occur (even though it could happen, to me it seems a bit of a stretch of a speculation) Yes. But a centralized platform in the Bitcoin world is certainly vulnerable. Someone might do it just for the lolz. I agree with you that the DDOS attack probabilities increase with anything related to bitcoin because bitcoin does seemed to have attracted some of the most sophisticated hackers to its space - maybe not all of the good hackers, but there seems to be quite a bit of hacker talent in the bitcoin space.

I'm looking forward to live in Canada, US or the Netherlands. Once I'm in Canada, I will go directly and meet JimboToronto I will catch you as well in Asia and maybe spend with you few weeks before returning back home. Thanks for clarification, much appreciated my close friend and brother

Meaning it will be today. Are violins required? they always can change their minds for one reason or another, so there is no way to be 100% sure also they could approve by doing no announcement until the monday's deadline, would be without precedence, but Bitcoin is without precedence too. no way to be sure until the day after monday, so the next 84 hours are critical

Has SEC ever gave any information during weekend? I mean is it possible that they will post update tomorrow?

No, that is not possible. It is either today or Monday. The latter is less likely though.

What are your bets?
I have no US Dollars, and the SEC is on the other side of this blue marble. I bet I don't really care about this. It's not going to drop enough to buy more bitcoins, so I'll just watch (and HODL, I choose my username when 2015 was far into the future)

no, they don't work during weekends and outside their working hours, so if no announcement until 17pm in their local time, then no announcement until monday

Coindesk twitter says SEC confirmed with them that decision will be announced today fwiw
links or GTFU here at killerpotleafLabs we have not confirmed any announcement ( coming from a relevent source ) detailing the time of the announcement. http://www.coindesk.com/sec-email-winklevoss-bitcoin-etf/The years-long process to get the Winklevoss bitcoin ETF approved is expected to come to a conclusion today, a move confirmed by an SEC representative when reached at press time. MarketWatch journalist Ryan Vlastelica reported earlier that an SEC representative had similarly confirmed the planned move. i had to run, but here's my comments. the coindesk article points to another article from the 7th and some dudes speculative tweet as "evidence" that the SEC will make a ruling today. we remain confident that a ruling WILL NOT be provided today largely because of the ongoing summit meeting thing going on at the SEC right now. ok i reviewed the tweet, and Ryan V seems very confident he was told first hand info by a relevent SEC infroment. hmmm.... now projecting a ruling at 4:30PM 30 mins after the summit meeting ends.

This has nothing to do with "toxicity". TX malleability is a known and important issue. Anyone is free to exploit it whenever they want to, just like any other attack vectors. Do keep in mind that "pushing for Segwit with this method" is pure bullshit from BTU folk. Segwit does not solve malleability of standard TX.
Only uneducated people with a lack of understanding would assume that miners are honest or that they will always work towards the common good. Bitcoin is not socialism.

Disagree, likely today end of day still. A little focus group, aka "Evidence Meeting" held today is not going to have all the SEC employees and execs at it. The SEC is a huge office/department with over 4000 employees. The press release was well completed days ago and checked and rechecked and approved so it is just a matter of timing the release to be as usual.

By saying "similarly confirmed" that quote intimates that coindesk spoke to a SEC representative separately from the MarketWatch journalist Ryan Vlastelica. However, it's wording is extremely vague and it could be interpreted to mean only Vlastelica spoke to the SEC. I suppose the answer to the question is still "how long is a piece of string?"
