My bet, no info to support it whatsoever - apart from I used to live in Manhattan. I just think they will want to release it after trading hours at NYSE / NASDAQ.

And what if ETF gets approved and then.. nothing happens? Nor the next week?

something will happen sooner or later, because more people will see BTC as a legitimate investment and there will be more investment options

also I think will take less than a week because if ETF will be approved the news will be spread in the first page of the papers all around the globe

Be prepared for a substantial price change in either direction. This is bitcoin and huge swings "on the news" are the norm.

I hope on a extreme punp to 15 k at the end of the year or a massive dump to 100 eur so that i can buy more . Both not gonna happen. HODL

For tax reasons, a very short dip to $100 every new year would be nice.

Eric Balchunas, a senior ETF analyst for Bloomberg Intelligence, who affirmed that he has heard chatter that the SEC will announce its decision between 5pm ET and 6pm ET.

Phil Bak, a former New York Stock Exchange managing director and current CEO of ETF issuer ACSI Funds, said he thinks the SEC will wait until US markets close to reveal its decision.

"Usually they come in during the morning, but in this case we can probably expect it after the close … I would expect it between 4:00 and 6:00 or so," he said in an email.

Why exactly it has to be after closing? A rhetorical question, of course.
There is exactly ONE security (GBTC) that is tied to this right now.

if it is today, it will be after markets close.
if its after market close its because its a "YES"

CNBC just spent another couple minutes on Bitcoin, expecting decision anytime.  Seemed positive overall, noticing the 25% run up this year on expectations that it will approve - but couldn't indicate either direction...

They will surely cover pretty quick as well...

the idea is to secure profits / take a hedging position.

I will probably use leverage if the ETF is rejected and the price drops. Doing it before knowing would be a too risky bet.
