So basically almost everyone sold at the bottom? LOL
Almost back to levels before the dump started.

Lessons learned I hope. When in doubt: hold.

Hey everyone. Well the good news is my wife is very happy! She is back from her mothers and believes I am not a complete fool once more. Sold at $1196 on stamp so everyone is happy.
I didnt lose anything. In face made a tiny bit. She isn't leaving me anymore.

Now all that is left to do is cry into a pillow because I have no position.

She says if I do this again she will kill me, but on the crash we must have this weekend as we shake out weak hands Ill be back  Cool

Too early to say, perhaps - but When Silk Road happened in 2013 there was a fairly big crash.

However, the totally unexpected recovery was damn quick and took everyone by surprise.

I saw a "nightmare" that bitcoin will end up to 575 usd but instead of that it was 1175 when I woke up.
Definetely I would go and liquadate some gold coins and bars to buy bitcoins if the weak hands were able to dump the beast that low.

My 2c:

Maybe think twice about putting the lot in next time?  Especially if it's a shared pot.  She would have a point if you'd wiped out a chunk of it.

Get her to agree an amount of BTC you can buy (and trade some of) trade and stick to it.

I was ready and bought cheap bitcoins yesterday after the dump. I'm sorry I didn't buy more.

If it goes to USD 575, I will think of selling my house.  Grin
There was a lot of talk about the SEC announcing the decision on Monday and so I totally missed the news. By the time I found out, the price had crashed and rebounded as well.  Smiley

Actually I agree with this.
That's basically the point to get all in. Take all the possible consumer loans, withdraw money from Credit Cards and buy tons of bitcoins.
Sure at that point it can go deeper but then just the solution is to hold and pay little by little everything and if it tanks even further, make another "crazy" move. The worst thing that happen is that you need to work a little bit over time for some time.
In the long run it is going up any way and the sharper the drops the more likely it is that you can sell at profit even a few minutes later.

I find it strange that they did not accept the ETF because they could not regulate every bit of it.

How do they regulate all of the gold in the world for the GLD ETF?

Good your marriage is back on track.

I'm glad that my wife is now cool with me risking a lot of money on bitcoin - I had to prepare her psychologically first as she is not a risk taker - but happy to see the rewards coming in and understanding that the pot I have built could collapse.

I think my best move is to sit down with her and decide as someone else suggested what we want to have no matter what saved. Then the rest can be invested in bitcoin so even at the worst we don't go straight to the poor house. This was a long time coming I suppose.

Thank Satoshi this situation was salvaged

Oops, I missed the news must have been whilst I was sleeping - strangely I noticed no difference in my crypto value - the loss in BTC must have been pushed into alts as I gained 2% overnight - should be watching the charts LOL

I push my savings into different 'buckets', real estate, stocks, mutual finds, bitcoin and spread the risk a little - I actually invest least into BTC but make more profit there (and spend the most time on BTC) - the shares and mutual funds take care of themselves, and never invest what I can't afford to lose.

By endlessly rehypothecating gold!

Quote
What is 'Rehypothecation'
Rehypothecation is the practice by banks and brokers of using, for their own purposes, assets that have been posted as collateral by their clients.

Bitcoin as collateral can't be rehypothecated! Or, if rehypothecated it will be seen immediately as it will be moved to different bitcoin address! That is their problem!
