More fun tokens for everyone to enjoy? I'm still getting over its return to the top after a hack of that magnitude. What do/did they have that other exchanges don't? Is it the combination of volume and margin?

I've never used it but it was certainly less horrific on the eye than Kraken is.

Good morning Bitcoinland.

Missed a couple of days over the Easter weekend but see I really missed nothing.

It's still in the $1150-$1200 range... currently $1204 (Bitcoinaverage).

Stamp is resisting the efforts of what appears to be someone desperately trying to drive the price down, and Finex, well Finex is Finex.

I'm glad I don't keep money on exchanges.

It's getting tedious though after 4 days of sideways. I wish it would either take another leg up or at least dip enough to provide a real buying opportunity.

Not too worried about the Bitfinex spread just yet. Gox was fairly higher from what I remember. It something like $1240 in the 2013 bubble, when BTC-e couldn't even reach $1100.

people keep saying bitfinex is fake pump but i am going to say it is now officially bitstamp that is dumping. JayJuanGee said this yesterday and i was skeptical about bitstamp bearwhale(s) but i see it now.

even btc-e is above $1201 now but bearstamp is still pulling us down ($1187).
kraken is also $1197-1200

a bit silly to say but even in other currencies bitcoin is worth more
CAD is worth more (1607.38 CAD = $1210)
EUR is worth more (1122-1130 EUR = $1195.36-$1203.89)
converted using xe.com

 Congratulations on becoming untrustable,(30+)

In the meanwhile the alts are recovering and doge increased +7.5% in value only today, and 125% in the last month

Litecoin also doing great, above 12 dollars

why are alts rising and Bitcoin tanking?

I'm not talking about Kraken, it's Bitfinex. But Bitfinex certainly has a less horrible design than Kraken. I can't believe they think that UI is good enough.

altcoins are rising because they are getting pumped, and since there is a lot of profit in pumps, many people join in and make the pump bigger.
i don't see Doge rising though. bittrex shows it as 0.00% change in past 24 hours!

and bitcoin is not tanking it is still worth $1200ish, maybe sideways but not tank!

i don't like what i will write now but for me the best ui was the gox one Smiley and this is the reason maybe i wait for the results Smiley
now, regarding the kraken one i use it for long time now..the BIG problem of kraken is that is VERY slow.....

Bitfinex scammers have a $65 spread with Bitstamp and GDAX now.  Pure fraud.  I wouldn't put it past those people to claim their banking deposits and withdrawals were shut down by the banks solely to try and force people to buy high priced bitcoins in order to withdraw.

People don't know how to recognize a bull market anymore... Buy every correction/dip, profit.
If you're not making money hanging out on bitcointalk and tracking bitcoin you're doing something wrong, lol.

I think an underlying vulnerability in the exchange ecosystem right now is Tether, specifically its legality under banking laws in the various countries where exchanges are established and using Tether.  Pegging an electronic token to the USD as a service to depositors is about as close as you can get to a bank without actually being a bank.

it's pretty much another liberty reserve and that didn't end so great for anyone involved. if governments want to get heavy on it it's all sitting in a bank account waiting to be frozen.

Are you goofy?

Bitcoin is not tanking.

Bitcoin remains in it's top 30 daily waited all time high prices EVER.

Even though BTC's price might go down - I would not call it tanking until it does go down - at least 15% from where it is right now.

Why compare some kind of alsmost infinite material by what it greatest capability is shining, to bitcoin? Bitcoin has a lot more potential. There is only no middleground. In a couple of years it is the moon or the gloom.
