Quadriga is lagging.  Usually 20-30 above stamp, right now its about 30-40 below.

I took advantage of a little arbitrage.

Thanks. I think we will have SegWit sooner than everyone expects. Simple because people and also miners are driven my money, the highest bidder. Jihan WU and Roger Ver's resources arent infinite so they cant hold on for ever. The miners saw what SegWit implementation did with the price of the altcoins. Its only a matter of time before the miners are going to betray BU and choose for SegWit. Simply because the market wants it. Its all about the money and it looks like BU made a nice offer for the time being. Higher price = higher ROI. They will choose SegWit unless BU can boost the price whats not going to happen.

Those pockets might be deeper than we think. If he has been doing the asicboost thing then that's a stunning increase in profitability compared to everyone else.

It may reach a point where it is literally Mr Wu and his dribbling loons versus almost everyone else. That'll be pretty fucking funny to watch because you can't resist forever.
True. We can compare this whole scaling war to an old medieval castle siege. BU is camping in the castle untill their resources run out. BU is a dead man walking.

It this is the situation, Why do these two people continue to hold on to their position? Why not surrender if the majority wants another solution? What do they have to win with this?

Astonishing that there are literally zero news articles regarding Bitcoins price.

Big fat dollars. What other reason is there? And the lack of foresight that they'll get more and fatter dollars if they join in.

Their investment (castle). Their position. When SegWit succeeds Wu & Ver will lose a lot of money and they become less important.

It's becoming rather hard to tell these days. It was impossible enough to get people to agree on the 2013 ATH because of Gox. I hope we soon make a 'clean' one that's unified across functional exchanges to save future bickering.

Actually other than finding the true market value, I hope we don't find a 'clean' ATH. Keeps the stupid media away from headlining anything sensational (e.g., "Bitcoin Hits New All Time High!"), which always precedes a crash a few weeks later.

Let's hope so. I'm saving my excitement for around $2000 per coin though.

We tend to come back to Stamp as our best barometer - even though all methods are going to have some flaws.... so it does not matter to have some differences of opinion..

And, if you recall, when we used to have chart buddy in here, there were three listings on there (bitstamp, bitfinex and Coinbase), which kind of allowed a method to accommodate different barometer choices...

I do continue to think that Stamp has been one of the better ones over time and even in current times, even though sometimes they also get a little bit out of wack from the rest, so we need to account for how far they are out of wack.. and surely it is the case that their volume is likely a lot lower, relatively to what it was in the past.  In that regard 2013 there were only a few exchanges, but today there are about 150 exchanges and other attempts at price setting mechanisms.

$2k USD per BTC sooner than most are expecting, we'll be there long before this year is out.

The folks who think it's going to fall below 900$ and they'll re-buy are just going to end up with less Bitcoin.

What's this about that Jillian Wu/Bitmain being a shady cheating asick-boosting cock-warmer? Is this the wee lad who is primarily responsible for holding Segwit back? Somebody should walk over to him and politely explain to him he's in the badgers way.

We should cast this one out to sea already. Everyone who has come up against the badger has left minus any wealth and dignity they once had. Mike, Gavin were the ones with the most 'capital' as they made some contributions earlier, but when they wanted to go against logic and push an agenda, Bitcoin folded them like cheap lawn chairs. They had nasty intentions and the economic majority crushed their fat heads.
