Either big institutions are buying on GDAX (too short later) or Average Joy is just too dumb to use another exchange, price premium ~10% to short later? if so thats an enormous gamble on their part, and one which could easily backfire spectacularly.

A bigger problem though is transaction clearing time, I just moved a bit to buy some equipment before end of year (tax deductible and I need this stuff) and it still hasn't confirmed.
If this keeps up I may have to use Litecoin.
Mempool is growing bigtime. Make sure to include a good fee for quick confirmation. https://jochen-hoenicke.de/queue/#24hI have 2 fairly large transactions totally stuck - even though I put them through as 'fast' by believing my BTC Core wallet's advice. Nothing confirmed for hours - what fees actually WORK right now - anyone recommend a site to suggest accurate fee requirements? Feeling very stupid... Viabtc has a Tx accelerator. It only accepts 100 tx every hour, and it fills up very fast. But it has been very useful to me, especially when the rates are excessively expensive. https://pool.viabtc.com/tools/txaccelerator/

I'm surprised yahoo took the time out to NOT whine about Trump and the end of the world for 30 seconds. So that guy is moaning that Bitcoin is just like gambling. Isn't that what most of the banking / trading / lending business is about. You "invest" or "lend" money for a potential higher return. You could get run over by a bus tomorrow and never see that return. Most things in life that carry the greatest rewards are about gambling or at least taking some risk I reckon. One gambles with their money but more so with their time or effort usually. I think he's irritated because he's known for talking about corporate equities in terms of their "valuation" due to "earnings". That's his whole entire shtick. So he can't talk about Bitcoin in terms of valuation publicly, because: 1) he can't talk about why it's better than fiat, gold, or other stores of value/ forms of currency. That runs counter to the whole bankster-controlled, stock market racket that he's a part of. and 2) he doesn't know how to value it. Bitcoin doesn't behave like an equity. It's also not "gameable" like equities are. Bitcoin breaks the mold. It also breaks (and hopefully exposes) the great scam/lie that is the U.S. stock market. I could go on for hours about that, but I won't.

I dont get why a 5K bottom is so unbelievable. We were just there only 24 days ago before we went supra-parabolic, after already having the CME news, and have not seen a correction since. Its where the 1W EMA is. It's all the criteria for a crash target. Its actually an extremely generous bottom, and the call SHOULD be 3K or even 2K. There has never been a crash that preserved more than 50% of the past ATH.

The whole mainstream media will do that. No doubt about that. "We told you so" will be written everywhere! And then they will continue with their stupid FUD, lies and embrace "controlled crypto currencies". Whatever that will be and look like.

I use https://bitcoinfees.earn.com/Looks like it's a heafty fee to get the job done quick Yeah - I just sent some of the unspent change over with a 271 / byte tx fee in the hope it would unlock the previous transactions with a tempting fee, but it still looks grim for the lot - no confs on that either!. I could have it all stuck for days. I reckon it's a risk to send anything under 300 sats / b at this rate - steady as you go with trying to send any BTC around, you could be waiting a long time!

I'm quiet stunned. This can't go on for more than a couple of days and it already has.
Couldn't the whole thing have come a couple of month later? We need the LN.

if this goes on, altcoins will be worthless in 1 week its like watching a race car right before the crash Alts stabilize more or less around their USD price, so I don't see them becoming worthless. At least not the genuine ones that are bound to have a bright future.

I've been paying around 280sat/byte, and they've been flying through today. I sent one too low, trusting the Core wallet 'suggestion', then sent one at 'fast' level - still no joy. Then I tried sent some of the unspent change at 271sat /byte to unlock it. Read somewhere that worked. You live and learn, eh? I will now go and meditate for a few hours and try not to be overly concerned. In other news - I note Bithumb in Korea is over 19k. Jeez.

You beat me to it. It does mean that BTC somewhere is finally trading at a number over the page count here on the WO. If it wasn't before the sun was over the yard arm, I would raise a glass to the thread right now.

Good lord, as if you couldn't tell bitcoin is a govt backed jew scam due to people like Larry Summers and Ben Bernanke promoting it, all the same sheklers were claiming after bitcoin went up during the halving that it appeared bitcoin was becoming an "uncorrelated asset" just like gold and silver, meaning they should move together. Currently jews are doing the most obvious metal manipulation ever seen in the last 100 years with $2-4 billion naked shorts every other day on metals while trying to pump bitcoin at the same time. So these so called "uncorrelated assets" that are supposed to both move in the same direction are moving in complete opposite directions, and it's not due to any type of free market forces. The banking/govt industrial complex is attempting to paint the tape on metals down and paint the tape on bitcoin up.

I'm bad at maths so can anyone help with figuring out my electrum fees? It's calculated in BTC/byte so what would I need to do to convert to sat/byte? Plus it doesn't give the transaction size until after you send it. Gd lol halp oh and this price is CRAZY! )))
