mining in the cloud is going to be to only way to profitably mine pretty soon.
SURE you can buy yourself a device today, but if you don't consistently expand and keep up with new hardware, no way you will be able to compete with a cloud.

fuck that, the offer is off the table!

In depends on where you live. In warm/hot climates such as the Southern United States, Australia, India, most of Africa etc., I would definitely take the cloud, but in Canada or Russia one can very easily compete with the cloud because it gets really cold outside.

This is the reason why more often than not both Virtex and BTC-E are over run with polar bears.

Maintenance in progress

This system is under scheduled maintenance. Maintenance started on October 11th 03:00 GMT, and will end two hours later on October 11th at 06:00 GMT

Please wait for the maintenance to end.

UPDATE - 04:30am GMT: Data transfer is taking longer than during the simulations. Because of this the maintenance period is extended by one hour, to end at 06:00 GMT.

At least I'll have something to withdraw other than BTC, even if it is just effectively a leveraged BTC instrument :\

The big announcement? Let's see.

Litecoin would be nice to trade against. If it's the fake Ripple XRP, then trrading Bitcoin on Gox becomes meaningless as the value of XRP's can be set arbitrarily.

I did get a shock when i started bitcoinity this morning and saw Mt.Gox 0.00...

I was like wow.. the world ended (the bitcoin one) and I missed it.

But it turns out it was only scheduled maintenance.. i feel so much better!

Never going to happen. Don't want to cause any confusion between me and Jaroslaw.

You are probably the only two who are confused about that  Smiley

According to this tweet from MagicalTux - it's not Midas, but it includes a pre-requirement for Midas..

According to their new press release ( https://www.mtgox.com/press_release_20131011.html ), they've already migrated to the new hardware. However, took me a while to understand this (is it me or is it their Goxish writing?)

Edit: While I think that new infrastructure and a faster trading engine is definitely needed on Gox, this isn't the most anticipated news everyone is hoping for... WE WANT WORKING WITHDRAWALS  Angry

I love you, too   Kiss

Personally I don't care about Gox withdrawals -- I don't have any coins/fiat left there. But if there's one thing Gox better had fixed already last month then this.
