It is possible if we applied a Fast Forier Transform (FFT) to the data since $450 the pattern would be clear (clearer) through that time.
Backing-up the observation by strong math is of course the only way. However, I am not enabled to accomplish this at this time.
Not sure if I want to do it anyway. If we were able to "prove" this with some analysis then who knows how far that info would go. "Bitcoin Price Manipulation On Largest US Exchange" -> Crash.
I don't think so. In normal markets bots are omnipresent, too. Even larger swings (artificial) can help determine the best market price imho.
Reporters should get the hint, that this is a bot dominated domain, as every exchange lists its API documentation.

However, as you shared your observation in the best manner of science, many users trying to exploit that knowledge should smooth it out or render it useless - I suppose.

(Without doing the math, I am forced to explain it as being the human factor: Perceiving patterns in chaos comes to mind).

Nice job spotting the pattern, but I think they are just classic head and shoulders...they repeat like that as levels of support and resistance are broken.

I don't think someone would program to generate a H&S, more likely they would program a bot to profit from one(s) already building based on the proportions.

Perhaps, they seem extremely uniform though.

CMMPro, so what is forming right now is an inverse head-and-shoulder pattern, not?

I would say it's pretty messed up because of that one guys dump...looks more like a cup and handle.
I'm not exactly a pro at this either, there is a lot of interpretation when it is unclear like this.

Yeah, very true...I just do not see a motivation for a bot to create a H&S.
Unless the bot is trying to trigger people into thinking the price is about to go up...it could be manipulation, I wouldn't discount other people's motives at all right now.

We are now overbought...I think it will drop a bit before going up again.
(In the really short term...maybe this hour.)
