Well, I shorted bitcoins @ about 955, and now it is at 963... closed my position and started a new long position.  good idea?

don't flip flop your trades...

you want to put yourself in a position where you don't care if it goes down, and love to see it go up.

and then you just HOLD that until really want to invest more, not speculate more.

Yeah, i was pretty sure it was going to drop, thinking this was a smooth dead cat bounce, but it is just staying about 875 for so long... not sure now... plus the consensus among bulls and analysts is that it will hit 1200+ ... i said forget it with the shorting intervals, lets go long...

definitely bad trading strategy in the long run... i should be toast right now... but i am up 2k in the last 2 weeks.

The reason I've been so bearish is because of China and the last crash.  How is China supposed to hit higher than 1200+ usd if it doesn't have new money coming in?  But i pretty much give up, because all my shorts has destroyed me, though it worked out good in the crash.

Exactly. Trading is gambling, just like the stock market or casino. Holding is investment, like fine art or mortgage-free real estate.

I haven't been able to check the forum the last couple days because of this conference in Las Vegas.

Can anyone summarize the last 30 pages or so of this thread?

It was just a pun in one of the slides in "The Word" segment, it wasn't actually said, just text on the side.
