If you are scared because of FUD like this, you will lose.
Even if you use Bitcoin through Tor, the way transactions are handled by the network makes anonymity difficult to achieve. Do not expect your transactions to be anonymous unless you really know what you're doing.

Lol this dump is such a fail. People can't seriously be giving up their coins for cheap at this stage in the game can they? This will be like crash number 15??

That's what people said at $266, look how much they would have increased BTC profit if they knew what the hell was going on.

This has to be a troll, no one is that legit retarded to give such analogy.

Old bitcoiners can't see the next steps for cryptocurrencies and also the fact that bitcoin is an enormous bubble which will burst soon or late...

Bitcoin lobbying was done long time ago, when that Senate Chairman from November got few thousands coins Cheesy

If you seriously think that Bitcoin might have legal problems after what was said on November hearing and after that, than you live in your little XRP cuckoo land.

XRP is the next step for crypto you'll discover that in few months.

I have 400k XRP and will surely buy more if it drops a bit. That doesn't mean I think Bitcoin is going back to 50$ like you do since you sold yours for Ripple and fiat Wink

Guys, I know we hear a lot of 'bad news', but this REALLY IS BAD NEWS, I urge you to consider selling now to buy back later at a lower price when the market has absorbed this. I'm 100% fiat as of 5 mins ago.

Troll.

You don't think one of the founders of the bitcoin foundation being arrested under money laundering charges isn't going to spook the market?

This is actually really good news. Charlie was not an asset to the bitcoin community. It was a shame that the winklevoss ever got involved with him but I'm glad they shut down bitinstant when they found out.

Not saying bitcoin is gonna drop to 50$ tomorrow. But maybe the day after tomorrow; when the time of regulation is passed and when better competitor will appear bringing REAL UTILITY we'll see if bitcoin don't burst ...

Bitcoin had much bigger shit happening and haven't give a flying one for more time Tongue
Sure, other shady exchanges got busted, and their operators were arrested or on the run.

But so far the discourse was "those are peripheral incidents by outsiders, the core of the bitcoin movement is a bunch of honest people who are working within the law for the good of mankind."

It will be rather difficult to say that after this arrest, no?  Who is the core of the Bitcoin movement, if it is not the Foundation?

There may be substantial tolerance for drug use in the US, but I don't think that it extends to drug  traffickers -- that is how the FBI is describing Shrem.

Shrem will get his medicine, and we move on. I hope you really don't think that politics is done on that way. It's based around interests, mostly private ones, and if there was no interest to keep Bitcoin going, it would be shut down long time ago. Sinve there obviously is, and since this investigation was ongoing for months, Senate committee in November said - you're free to go guys, we'll deal with bad boys from your group and you just keep making us rich Cheesy

Kinda funny to see all exchanges act so different. Stamp/btc-e dumping, hyubi not really giving a fuck, and Gox is just sitting near that 1k mark like a kid with autism and doesnt even know whats going on.

It's always fun to see all those alts burn on bear days.

It's always a time to buy alts in moments like this Wink

Last time we visited 780 (few days ago) I made 30% on PPC in less than 24 hours. Alts stayed much stronger this time though so far.

While I'm not going to sell bitcoins just because of this, I do think this is terrible news. A person has just been put in jail, on bogus "trading with some people, who might have been trading with some other people, who might have been selling plants to people" charges. Seeing certain individuals in Bitcoin community dump the guy, just because he's "not an asset" or something, is making me sad and angry. I would guess you and me are sort of "not an asset" types either, even more so than Charlie. So what, does it mean we deserve to be locked up?

We're currently 3% below where we were before the news. Hardly destabilization so far.
