I have been affected by the Ledger leaks. I got contacted via mobile and email for phishing attacks. Did not Fall for it of course. But how safe are my coins on the ledger as long as I dont share any keys and stuff? I am also worried that some assholes will break into my parents home where I ordered the ledger to because these idiots from Ledger leaked my parents home adress...

Thank gawd for paper wallets and anonymity.

I made the mistake of buying a hardware wallet (Trezor) years ago. What a waste of money.

Gotta get my last coins off of it and safely onto paper.

Mine were on paper wallet for years. Then I wanted to claim the forks and the best way do that was Ledger I read. Wich paper wallet is safe? I want to get them coins out from Ledger asap...

Also I just received two phone calls I did not answer. One was from leeds UK and one from Germany. I think they will try anything now... Luckily I am in Turkey and my ledger adress is in Germany... I am just worried about my parents...

If I could I would, however I'm just very lucky that my hat is fairly simple, I managed to recreate the original by combining three existing hats of the right colours, and adding a custom made patch.

Which paper wallet is safe? I want to get them coins out from Ledger asap...

Just generate your own addresses on a secure system.

I use an old Win7 system with no internet capability... no wifi card, no LAN cable. I use a printer that has never been (and will never be) connected to an internet-capable computer.  Print spoolers can be hacked.

I downloaded my paper wallet generator (bitaddress.org) on my main rig in the form of an HTML file, scanned it for malware, and copied it to my safe machine using a USB flash key.

It runs in either Flash or Java (I forget which) and you manually randomize the starting point. I usually create several dozen at a time and print them 4 to a page on high-quality bond paper.

You can later scan, encrypt and copy some of them and store them in multiple off-site locations destroying the original paper, for extra-secure but less accessible long-term cold storage.

Hope that helps.

Back up to 23.2k

Still very good prices every dip gets a bounce. I still think we get very near 30k very soon and correct to wait for it 20k.

Meander along from Jan 2021 to Sept 2021

Then moonshot in the fall.

Other case is sideways sideways sideways til Jan 27 my brith day

then a big move over 40k

first case is more likely.

Just generate your own addresses on a secure system.

I recommend adding a BIP38 password to your private key, this way you can print them on an insecure printer/save backups wherever you like without fear of someone finding your unprotected private keys. It's the "BIP38 Encrypt?" option on bitaddress.org

Obviously they are only as secure as your chosen password, so make it a strong one.

edit: just found out you can use emojis in your password  Cheesy

Soooooo as we will be having our 100k party soontm, I thought it would be a good idea to start preparing. It would be nice if everyone would be able to recognize me easily, and since I don't have any tattoos I decided on making a copy of my OG xhomerx WO-hat, IRL. Surely not as great as the original, merely a watered down copy, but still!

Thanks again to xhomerx10 for making the original!!

WANT!
Where? Where can I try to order a physical copy of my beautiful Hat?

Apparently, Microstrategy is at it again: they bought another 30,000 BTC

Bitcoin has broken out from major previous all time highs only twice before in its history.

If this most recent breakout returns half of what the previous breakout returned in 2017, bitcoin will eclipse $150k.

This is very important, yes!

Without a BIP38 passphrase, the generated Bitcoin paper wallet is equivalent to CASH. This means that, if you store the paper wallet in a safe, and the safe is cracked open by a thief, your coins are gone, just like cash would be. Actually, an unprotected paper wallet is much easier to steal than fiat cash, because it's feather-light and takes near-zero space. Similarly, if you hide the paper wallet somewhere and someone finds it, your coins are gone, just like someone finding your real leather wallet and taking the cash inside it.

I take every opportunity I can, to stress how important this is. Never leave/store/hide unprotected paper wallets anywhere, unless you are absolutely certain that no one can get their hands on them. An unprotected Bitcoin paper wallet containing 100 BTC and stored in a desk drawer is equivalent to having $2,300,000 in CASH stored in that same desk drawer. Would you put $2,300,000 cash in a desk drawer? If the answer is NO, then you should not put an unprotected Bitcoin paper wallet in there either.

All of the above are completely avoided by adding a BIP38 passphrase to your Bitcoin paper wallet. Then, that paper wallet will be a completely useless piece of paper to everyone else in the world but you.

Math & science provide the tools. Use them!

Actualy I did look at the viability of getting them made real, the patches can be custom ordered from the interne easy enough, not necisarilarly cheap.

Well that's just great! The Russian Covid vaccine's side effects include plummeting and stab wounds.  Hopefully these side effects aren't prevalent with our vaccine (if we get one that works on the current mutation)
