Grayscale periodically closes off its crypto trusts to so-called “private placement” rounds. Such action happened repeatedly to GBTC in Q4 2019 – so the Monday halting is not unusual.

+1 WOsMerit Grayscale Investments LLC has temporarily stopped accepting new investors in six funds, including its Ethereum Trust and Bitcoin Trust funds, both gateways for institutional crypto bets.
The crypto asset manager’s website said Monday that its Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Ethereum, Ethereum Classic, Litecoin and Digital Large Cap Fund Trusts are “currently unavailable” for new investors.
Grayscale periodically closes off its crypto trusts to so-called “private placement” rounds. Such action happened repeatedly to GBTC in Q4 2019 – so the Monday halting is not unusual.
Even with the temporary closing to new investors, Grayscale will still be able to obtain added capital from existing investors until it reopens again to new investors. On Monday JPMorgan analysts wrote that a dramatic slowdown in GBTC inflows could jack up the odds of a bitcoin price correction.
New York-based Grayscale is owned by Digital Currency Group, the parent company of CoinDesk.
CORRECTED 12/21/20 19:31: Rewrites headline to emphasize the closing is temporary. Corrects to note the trusts can still obtain capital from existing investors. ------ jpm anal ysts think I got screened for these last year..not sure always best to be safe than sorry

I'd even suggest eddie to try for hiring on a small boat as a sailor/seaman, if possible. this way he can set sails and additionally make money to invest into moar corn. Then go for an own boat after the next bullrun (2025/26). I already think I might as well hodl until after the pump after the next halving in another 4-5 years from now.. I have a pretty darn good job now making quite good money for my area, with more to come, doing what I do best.. Building out equipment and field work making equipment run and keep running.. ‘Tis what I do.. Much more stable sector now too.. From fracking (very unstable) now to environmental remediation (very stable and increasing with every added regulation).. Hazmat work cleaning up hazardous waste sites and remediating industrial waste streams.. Basically pumping whatever through whatever filters/medias to capture whatever chemicals need capturing.. I’m fecking good at this kind of stuff.. Building and running a lot of complex pumping systems.. (Like fracking) Even a lot of welding and fabrication work building our equipment (you don’t just buy this stuff), which I am also quite good at and enjoy doing.. And I am licensed to drive heavy trucks to transport our equipment, which I am also good at.. So my specific skill set is very valuable where I am now.. Things are good.. Also why I am very self sufficient.. Mechanic, welder, fabricator, operator, construction, electrical.. I can fix/make Basically whatever.. I was actually thinking about, and mentioned to Elwar, about sending him my resume, to work on that ship and keep it running no matter what it takes, cause that’s what I do.. I can understand complex systems and scramble at the drop of a hat to keep it going, such as keeping that ship from sinking or floating dead in the water.. I make shit happen.. But I guess not.. I am not very good in the digital realm when it comes to software and cryptocurrency stuff, but I am a beast in the physical realm.. As long as you do not get caught up on dead end projects like the satoshi (that ship in a corona virus), and you can make decently good money, I would stick with my already given suggestion that you continue to earn as much fiat as you can and just dollar cost average into bitcoin. If you try to time shit, then you are going to fuck things up.... seems that is also your potential personality.. so if you just keep working your ass off in terms of what you are good at and continue to dollar cost average into bitcoin (maybe even aggressively) .. you will likely be really well off in the future, such as 5, 10, 15 or 20 years... which is way the fuck faster than most regular peeps are able to reach fuck you status in which you won't even need to employ your well developed and marketable engineering (man's work) skills (if you don't want to).

fi-nal-ly!!1! quote of the year: “It’s an attack on the entire crypto industry and American innovation,” Brad Garlinghouse said in an emailed statement. muahhahaa muahah MUAHAHAAHAAAHAA MUAHAHA HAHA ROFL yeah, "we're all in the same boat". NEVER! fucking scammers! edit: it gets even better: This is an attack on the entire crypto industry and American innovation. By giving the stamp of approval only to Bitcoin and Ether (whose networks are at the mercy of the Chinese Communist Party), the SEC has picked the winners - disregarding an entire industry outside of these two tokens.

wtf? https://www.tagesschau.de/wirtschaft/unternehmen/musk-tesla-bitcoin-101.htmlTagesschau is the official (semi state owned) TV news source in Germany. like BBC in GB. they report about elon musks tweet conversation with micheal saylor. like it is relevant news. we are winning. billionaires tweeting about converting billions of USD into BTC is hitting prime time news. wow.

I have gotten at least 20 spam emails. /yawn What this hacker is doing is putting people at serious risk of physical extortion attacks! People may be be kidnapped, tortured and even killed because of his actions. This is a criminal act, and I really hope this hacker is found, arrested and put to jail for life.

That's not even a hacker. It's a troll. If ledger doesnt grant my "right to be forgotten" as an EU company, to an EU citizen, they're gonna get into trouble, i swear. They have to send me a proof of deletion. I soon will issue an ultimatum, otherwise my lawyers phone will ring my tune. News coverage of ledger trying to escape the law would be candy. [/angry mode]

[/angry mode] I'm with you on this. I was not affected, purely out of luck (purchased a Ledger from those jokers in 2017—one year before the leaked data), but I'm pretty sure they still have my details. I'm an EU citizen too. If there is a law or other legal/official info I can use to threaten them in the email I'm going to send them, please let me know, either publicly (maybe here, for the benefit of all), or via PM. I also want to make sure they completely erase my data from their servers. And I do hope they go bankrupt—I think they will, given that their blunder directly negates their sales pitch for their h/w wallets. Who, in their right mind, would buy a Ledger, or use their online services, after what happened? The Ledger may be a solid product, but I prefer the mafia way of dealing with such issues: "When in doubt, kill 'em all!"

No need. You can download the leaked files and search yourself using a text editor. That's what I did.
