in the beginning of 2017 bears were expecting a double top and game over for btc (china ban, etc...). biggest bulls were hoping for $2500 by EOY. No one was expecting $20k. No one.

now, with the beginning of 2021 soon, expectations are way more bullish. 100k is being referred to a conservative prediction. can it be that easy? bitcoin usually surprises everyone. how could bitcoin surprise us next year?

a) it could simply not moon at all. like trying to get above 30k all year without breaking it.
b) it could actually go down (that would be a surprise indeed)
c) it could moon way higher than 100k

how about a repitition of a 2013 scenario? going to 100k by april 2021, drop to 60k during summer and a november spike to 400k...

indeed, honey badger gives a s**t about opinions of others and will do what he wants.

#nohomo  Grin

so... what do you expect in 2021 regarding btc price?

It could be anything. I don't expect something but my body is ready for everything.  Grin

We are grown ups no? Let's ask some critical questions. I know critical thinking is forbidden in our society. Everybody who thinks critical and asks questions is called conspiracy theorist. We see where this led us to in 2020.

Seriously, who is behind the pump? In 2013 it was mtgox manipulating the price up. As much as I remember in 2017 it were some autobots no? Now people saying now institutions getting in and pumping the price. Would they be this stupid to throw their money out of the window by buying huge amounts in one go? They could buy slowly to not pump the price.
Most of these buys are being done OTC. This moves the price as little as possible, at least on the instant. Then of course scarcity builds up, but that's another issue. We are beginning to see some effect though.

They could buy slowly if they wanted, say, 10-100 btc. The problem is that they want much moar.

And, you could ask, why are they speaking so openly about that? I have multiple possible answers.

- Who tells you they're all speaking openly? There are a few that came out of the closet, sure, but if someone doesn't tell, we will have no direct clue. There might be many who are keeping silence while they can.

- While they can: this brings me to my second answer. Some investors have to disclose their holdings on a regular schedule. So the cat will be out of the bag soon enough anyway.

- I think some of them are looking for validation. Breaking the "too big to fail" threshold, so to say. Grayscale talking to Tesla is a good example. "The more we are, and the bigger, the less they can try to smother us with senseless regulation. Please jump in while the corn is cheap, whale colleagues!

"There's no use trying," she said; "one can't believe impossible things." "I daresay you haven't had much practice," said the Queen.
Alice laughed: "When I was younger, I always did it for half an hour a day. Why, sometimes I've believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast."

For 3 years I've tried to believe this day will come. The day when the sky is open and Bitcoin is shining like the Sun! Almost 1000 dark days when there was no sign the things will change. When it was falling to $6400 and even below my main investment point $4800 I was frustrated on the verge of physically breaking my ledger to be sure I didn't do something stupid. But I also realized that these times were a gift to accumulate more coins. I had nothing to lose. Only 4-5 year salary. And now when my employer robbed me from the raise of the government, I could say in his face what I think of him without the fear of being fired, because... it happens that now I have the equivalent of 40 year salary... and it remains only 18 years to my retirement. Of course, I have to mention that in my country the living standard is very low, so I wouldn't be considered rich in the western world. Anyway, this is a good occasion to celebrate. I would like to thank especially El Duderino, LFC Bitcoin, 600watt, Boblaw and many others for being a true inspiration and support in hard times. And also thank mindrust for being a counter example. Cheeres  WO brothers and sisters!

P.S. And when we fell in Dec 2018 to $3120 I swore that one day I will sell at $30K to one of those dumping morons the bought bitcoins from that day. I remember some troll mocked me here on WO. I am sure now he is buying...lolZ Grin
Very inspirational post i can say, but it's also a sad news because you aren't the true HODLer. Well anyway enjoy your retirement later!

Wow. Wow. I like what I see.  Cool

155 days, 7 hours and 19 minutes

So, you are saying I have to throw away a 237 million to reach that approximately 155 million .... Damn doesn't look good for me  Undecided

Thx for calling our names as inspirational and as support to keep you going.... though you're probably smarter as I am considering BTC etc, i'm just a long term perspective dude, no need to know all the in-between, just my will to buy BTC and to HODL long term, all the rest in-between is noise that will be played out and not to necessary for me to understand or be involved with...  Of-course with being here so much I have learned a lot of the in-between, but I still realise is wasn't so necessary to know. Just strong hands, long term belief and a bit of knowledge about the current systems flaws and you can start a BTC life!   The rest will always follow...

But @ivomm, when you sell at 30-K, please not more as 30% of you're stash, you will be sorry otherwise... especially in a low cost counrty, why sell when not instant needed... let your corn grow, so you can explore the whole wide world whiteout any difficulties or worries...

Cheers mate

I've bolded that I will sell only the portion of bitcoin bought on that evil day when they dumped it to 3100. That would be... about 1% I guess. However, I am not only a hodler but a miner as well. This is how I got my fortune and after that I bought bitcoins with all of my remaining fiat savings. Right now, I am in the process of replacing my mining equipment, which currently provides additional income equal to my salary. With the new equipment after the ROI in 3-6 months, I will quadruple that income. With part of it I will cover my expenses, and the bigger part will go back in my bitcoin stash. So, no need to be judged especially by n00bs for my sells. I plan never to quit owning bitcoins. On the contrary, with my strategy I have increased my stash wih 50% over the last 3 years without any sell just for trading.
