Last day of the year, waking up with another ATH!
$29,000
Actually, it's reached $29,200 on bitstamp. I think we get to $30k before next year . Let's see how far 2021 goes.

MacLeod's latestLeaving the Bitcoin Vs Gold discussion aside, he is really tying his credibility to a currency event occurring soon. Perhaps there are supporting factors like the FED hiding obvious jumps in money aggregators just like preventive hiding of the M3 numbers in 2006 just before Quantitive Easing. Is he taking a brave but perhaps foolish position? Anyway, a powerful snip: There is a growing feeling, even among the establishment’s mainstream supporters, that so long as Fed policies continue on their current course, bitcoin will go to the moon.
True that Ultimately, I am pondering about scenarios if the monetary system indeed breaks down severally. Meaning, that true collapse of an already but in name collapsed system materialises. I don't want to dismiss the case for gold as government proposed solution out of hand. But we already know how Gold as 'solution' turned out in the past. At best a temporary stop gap with the abuse in the system growing and taking over from day 1 again. Hardly reassuring for me but perhaps it would work for the masses or money system overall for the time being. In any event, it makes me think about an outcome where Bitcoin won't take over in the absolute sense but grows sufficiently big to be the truth keeper. With an 100% open and honest ledger, true value cannot be hidden anymore. If this would keep rampant mismanagement of government ruled money systems in check, Bitcoin will have won. But I don't want to disturb you further with these musings. The race for $100k is on (true reverse-Minsky style )!

Heh, found the first post I made on this forum, made by my previous user (never knew I could search by username, so I never found this post before). I really only registered to buy some PM by the user 2weiX, after reading this thread. I had to write one forum message before I could privately message him, so this is the first and only messsage I wrote. Hi All,
Chris from Sweden here.
Been lurking on this site for months without register, mainly in the Economics and the Bitcoin Discussion (sub)forums.
I bought bitcoins when the price was less than 10 USD per BTC and I still hold tight to most of them, even though I've sold some both on the way up and way down of the recent bubble to secure my initial investment.
I still have great faith in bitcoins. :-)
Cheers
I never changed the password after the data breach, so I've lost access to this account since a long time ago. This is the message I received when I tried log in again. Sorry Guest, you are banned from using this forum! Your account is locked because it sat inactive for years after the password hashes were leaked in 2015, and was therefore at high risk of being hacked. Email reactivate_2019_bgbs5 @ bitcointalk.org to get it unlocked. nice! 2weiX from berlin must have gotten some good business back then. i came into this forum around the same time and also bought gold from him communicating via this forum cheers mate!

.... they are not BTC worthy....
I think we all started kinda like that bro - but we evolved. It takes more to be BTC worthy, than just buying it - you gotta hodl it ffs. In other words, you gotta to respect it - cos if you don't - well, you just got mindrusted.I managed to get a good friend into BTC earlier this year. He is only now starting to respect it, and only because of me. Personally, I treated BTC back in 2013 with total disrespect. You can guess how that worked out.
Observing corn today, is such a beauty.

Watching the Boston Dynamics recent video, I can't help thinking how shotgun resistant these things are or will be. I'd love to find out, and probably will, but for now drones will have to do.

An EMP would be the choice, but I like it messy. I always recall the slingshot I had as a kid, whenever I see a drone flying low on a beach. Perhaps the coming summer I'll even buy one and carry it with me. Throwing stones manually at them does not work very well.

I don't have bitcoins. I am simply able to control and use the private keys associated to my UTXOs. These keys give me the opportunity to transfer those outputs to other addresses that will become new UTXOs for the next guy on the blockchain. Again, I have NO bitcoins. I HOLD keys
